Forest Hunter question Empty Forest Hunter question

Post by Seignar Sun Nov 04, 2012 12:32 pm

What is the recommended level for getting the most action as a forest hunter without being at a massive disadvantage? Also, are there any basic hunter builds I should be aware of? Dueling isn't getting as much action as of recent days...

Recommended level? SL100 atm seems common since DLC.

You can get action with any soul level. Just make a build with weapons you like to use. Stack enough HP to survive hornet ring bkga backstab. I like to have weapon that stunlocks, and a fast weapon for chipping some health and keeping the pressure up. Like zwei + katana, or mura + spear etc. It is also a good idea to have some sort of magic with you, but it is not necessary. Buffs/crown of dusk or basically anything that boosts damage is your best friend.

If you get backstabbed, expect chaining. They will chain you if they know how to do it.

I have a 380 and get a lot of action. It is usually 2 vs 1.

I'm using only SL120 chars (then again I don't have any higher SL) and got plenty of action.

Using "pivot" you can totally avoid it possibly taking regular hit if you don't roll away right after pivot.

Yeah, i know. You can also parry the chain attempt if you wait for the pivot to end. But sometimes you don't want to take that one hit. I usually roll towards my opponent, because if they try to wake-up combust or wog me, i can roll backstab them.

I just always thought it didn't matter. You get matched up with enemies regardless of SL in the FH covenant.

yep, it doesnt matter that why most of the people that host or invade are maxed out sl. i prefer sl 99, it feels right for me and i win about 60%-70% of my invasions, most of the fights i lose are 3v1.

I usually invade people who are close to my SL. Usually a bit higher, but practically never anyone much lower.

i have noticed new players in the forest trying to go to sif when i invade them(its pretty obvious, they run away to the fog door while the white phantom rushes me) i guess its because of the new version of the game that comes with the dlc. i always feel bad killing them, most of the times i just crystal out.
