How do you like to play? That is important. Are you a aggressive/fast player? If so, then weapons like washing pole/uchi/iaito, painted guardian, quelaag's, are all good. Medium? Balder Side sword, Clay are good choices. If you want more damage but slower weapons, Halberd (this also fits with medium as well), Mura, Zwei, and Great Club are all good weapons.
And, don't forget fast spells like Great Combustion and, to a lesser extent, WoG. Those can compliment slow weapons nicely.
