    Yes, it's shame.

My advice: whenever you do run into an honest fighter, try to establish a contact, send an invite and little by little you could have a nice list of honorable fighters to set up with.

I know that feel. I was playing co-op and we get invaded. The invader uses seekers (the new dark magic) and waits around a corner for me. I follow him and the seekers destroy me. It was clearly easy for him. Even so, he uses the shrug expression. What a douche.

Yea on xbox that's usually what happens when you invade randoms, especially via red orb. The majority of ppl who want honorable pvp use the RSS trying to escape that but you still get the occasional gankers. Lately with everyone in the dlc you seem to run into more and more people who aren't looking for good matches but just easy wins.

At least when no one bows you know what to expect but I've been getting a lot of players who bow and act honorable then the second things go south they're flasking and lagstab fishing non stop.

Always reminds me I should practice my counter bs and atune a heal in the arena. twisted

The Red soap stone, like the white soap stone only it appears as a red version and if the host chooses they can summon you as a red phantom to fight.

I invade a world, equip Ascended Pyromancy Flame+5 Left Hand and BKGA or GSOA(Holy) and just attack.

I'm sorry, when did using the Red Eye orb grant honor? Dignity? Respect? -- It never did. You invade other worlds to acquire Souls and Humanity. You don't invade another world to be a gallant fighter.

<-< Granted... Invading gankers makes me feel like how you do right now... but not the point! If it's 1v1, grief! 2v1! USE ALL TACTICS TO SURVIVE... or fall off the cliff, like I do half the time in the forest.

edit: I quit bowing ever since I got Hornet Backstabbed by Camo gankers. So that turned my invading world around.

Your best bet is to hook up with a small honor group, outside of that you should expect anything and everything.

Invaders are expected to be ruthless, invade without warning and crush without hesitation to claim their prize. The trouble is players who bow without meaning then fight dirty. Also the fact your toting a BKGA is the best warning they'll get your not looking for duels. Well What is it

If you're looking for fair fights find a place with alot of red summon signs like the upper burg or the area in Oolacile before the shortcut from the bonfire to the center of the abyss. Then go hollow and put down your own RSS until your comfortable enough to host.

Invade at the Kiln. In my experience, about 75% of the fights are what I'd define as respectful and "honorable" (i.e. bowing and no ganking). Also, it might be significant to note that that 75% number is from when I invade. When I use the RSS, it's a bit higher. Honestly, I've come across situations where I have been summoned via RSS into a world only to find three players already standing at the spawn point waiting to spam R1.

I'm absolutely awful at PVP, but today was pretty darn low. I got invaded in the Darkroot Forest, already being ganged up on by the NPC Hunters when the invader shows up. You know, I try to go somewhere where the NPC's won't get in the way, but this dude uses that as a means to destroy me, rather than have an honest 1-on-1 skirmish. While I'm running, trying to secure a good place to duel, the guy stabs me in the back, rather than let the NPC's cool off and give up on me.

Then he bowed afterward, the jerk.

I'm glad you got such good luck Brotherbob I have probably had some of the worst luck in the Kiln, largely because it was the first place I gravelorded, however even coop the vast majority of hosts are just summoning to gank, like full giants BKGA gank. lol!

The forest is a grey area for pvp and for dark souls that says something. Easily 90% of hosts are either gankers or high level pro players so a lot of hunters can go 30 or 40 invasions before they get even their 3rd kill for the ring of fog and that's the lucky ones. The things that are done to hunters it wouldn't be surprising if you got shot in the back with a dragonslayer then bs'd by a buffed power within.

@AzureCrow: I totally agree about the Forest Covenant. Since they can invade any higher-level host, but can't invade a lower-level host, it's just really unfair. I hate it when I get summoned as a white phantom to gank. If I was summoned in the forest, I'll usually wait until an invader comes in. Then the host will charge at the invader and I'll just jump off the cliff.

    Shrug

That way, the host gets left helpless at the hands of a vengeful Forest invader, and the Forest invader gets a nice (much deserved) bonus to their souls.

I do the same thing, when I get summoned by a ganker I'll always try to challenge the invader myself, or run after them and drop a humanity or twin if they've invaded a few times then bow and 1v1.

Twice yesterday I got summoned by gankers while trying to co-op kalameet, I could tell the host was using a cookie cutter build but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and switched to a pvp setup. We waited a few min just staring at each other before an invader finally shows up. I more to face the red but the moment I go to bow I see the host rushing in to summon bs him, that fails epicly so I stand there and watch him slowly get overpower and after taking most of the invaders health the host gets parried and runs toward me only to die at my feet.

Am I a bad person because I watched my host die? No! I'm a bad person because I cheered the Hurrah! as the host died. Strangest part was no hatemail. Hurrah

Dishonourable people? Every idiot that has invaded me. They have used all the cheap tricks: spamming pyromancy or WOTG, hiding in NPC territory, hitting me in the back while I'm trying to kill NPCs, backstabs with Hornet Ring.

Once I was trying to trade some stuff, but an invader got there first. The guy saw that I had no gear and no weapons and he still killed me.

So yeah, invaders deserve the worst.

You could always join up with one of the User Covenants on here. My Covenant, The Obsidian Knights is based around 'Honour' duels and tournaments and using non-standard equipment. Check us out if you like by clicking the link in my Signature (shameless self-publicity silly ).

If joining a Cov seems too formal for you, you could also just post on here asking if anyone wants to duel. You'll find people on here are often up for some good fights happy

If someone invades you, don't expect an honor duel. That is not what the game is about. If you want an honor duel, then go to a place where duelling exists. If you are invaded, all rules are off. I expect the questers I invade to do anything in their power to kill me. Cause, I sure as hell am going to do the same. That includes hiding behind enemies (especially if I am outnumbered), running away, and using the environment to my advantage.

"Rules" and "honor" are different with invasions than they are for duels. Play how you want for invaders, but don't expect them to do the same.

I'm really against that sweeping generalization that invasions must be dishonorable. I personally like to DMB invade all the time. So, because I have nothing to lose (except for time), I always bow just as I enter a host's world. If the host doesn't want to fight (what I feel to be) "honorably", I remember their name for next time (assuming I died of course lol ).

EDIT: I always invade at the Kiln, so maybe that changes my perspective a little.

That sounds pretty correct. Although my experience at the Kiln would disagree with that statement, my experience in the Forest definitely agrees. But still, because I lose nothing by being honorable when I invade as a DMB, even in the Forest, I give the host one chance to be honorable. When I get killed by gankers in the Forest, their name goes on my list...
