My rating:
Yup. I found it too easy PVE wise - it also didn't bring much to the table. I enjoyed the Patch though.

It was kind of short, though it really didn't bother me too much. I myself really enjoyed it, and i have yet to try the arena, so there's still more to try out, as for ratings, i would give it an 8/10 simply because it seemed so very short. But that's just me. Other than that, it has just like the original, great replay-value, obviously, so that really makes up for how short it is. Yep.

Technically I don't have it for PS3 (not yet) but I already played it in
PC and I felt that, while it was great, there were some things missing:
PC and I felt that, while it was great, there were some things missing:
- Longer Duration, too short for me
- More heavier weapons, it was just the Stone Axe (which isn't very unique), greatswords (only 2 were added) and the greatbow don't count as heavy weapons
- New Miracles
- All Chester's new equipment:
- His throwing knives which cause bleed, I'm okay if you wouldn't be able to throw multiple like he does, but at least singular.
- His low mortal-kombat-like kick, it's awesome, at least there should be a ring or something that allows you to do it
- His modified Sniper Crossbow, at least a completely new crossbow, which low damage to balance it's quick rate of fire, the unique thing he had, it's that he was able to shoot multiple bolts, not like avelyn, that's burst fire, I mean multiple bolts when he wanted to, like if he had a magazine

I'm enjoying it all said and done. Just having new places to pvp would be enough for me, but having new bosses to figure out was great too. I definitely spent a good two hours last night trying to lop of Kalamete's tail, and then was really satisfied when I managed to do it. More gear is always be good, so much so I think that no matter how much they gave us we could always ask for more, so Im just going to be content with what we got, and patiently wait for the next souls game. That being said I agree with Chiz that it would have been nice to see more of what's there as usable, I actually got all excited when I saw that the new ent things attacks were causing poison. I really thought they'd incorporated a poison giving spear, which was always part of my technique in DeS, but as it turned out it was the shears that were poisoning me, not the spear. Would have liked to have gotten a hold of some of those things.

Well I don't have the DLC but I will post about the update.
I've been enjoying so far, now that I no longer have to deal with the DWGR all the time in combat I've been having a lot of fun fighting people in the forest.
The only reason why I could ever hate the update is with the DWGR ring in PVE. I just got to the Four Kings on NG+2 the amount of times I've died by them so far... let's just say I don't even think I died this many times in my NG+ playthrough.
Also I'm glad that the BB glitch is gone, even though I was getting a bit used to using the glitch I think I would have ruined the PVE experience if I overused it.
Hopefully when I get the money, I'll be able to get the DLC!

I wish it had more secrets, it was quite straightward...the lore was a bit more explained than usual, as well.

I agree with Caligo about the lore. As for the gameplay it is very entertaining and fun. I really like the patch because it forces everybody to adapt making PVP that much more entertaining. The pvp arena is nice, very fun. If anything I like the DLC because it brought players back to the game making it very active once again. I'm on PS3 by the way.

I also thought it was a bit short, and while im sure everyone doing it at SL50+ will say it is easy these bosses are going to be incredibly fun for low level challenges. I'm still not even sure if i can do them, i was going to do low level my first time through, but after artorias i just decided to use a higher level character. The mobs and bosses defenses are much better then other ones in the game, and if you have low HP the DLC bosses will give you trouble.

my SL40 found it rather easy But I generally don't struggle with PVE - Trying it with my SL300 NG+10 (+7 difficulty) tonight, he has 1500 hp so will be OHKO'd

Yeah I agree.
For me personal;
Pros;
- Nice shortcut system! They really did a good job on that one.
- Graphics (I was afraid that the whole dlc would be in a forest area, but they made it quite varied)
- Some new enemies (the glowing ones in the chasm, brrrr and also the funny ones that are trimming the hedges in the forest haha)
- Fighting a dragon for once! ;-)
Cons
- As stated above by some; a tad but short (but replay value is good)
Overall I would give it something in the range of 80-100%

What's there is great, everything impressed me. But I just wish there was more of it, I was walking through the abyss starting really get my bearings and becoming familiar with Oolacile then BAM, It's Manus :|
"Isn't he the last boss? What but I'm really starting to dig Oolacile! Don't make me go back to the future "
Overall fantastic - great new enemies, like the environment and the bosses are quality.
Artorias beasted me over and over because I was wary of attacking while he was charging up thinking I would take damage, so I had to beat him in perma hyper mode. Didn't realise till I was Co-oping with people smarter than me that realised this was the best time to wail on him haha

I just made it to the first bonfire in the Sanctuary so I still have everything to explore, what does give me some cause for hope is that I made sure to enter the new areas in NG+ so I'm hoping at least for a moderate challenge.

I know everyone loves to say how everything is easy, buy artorias and manus are really cool/difficult fights. Obviously if you are on top of your game/dodges its easy, but doing that is what is difficult people just love to brag. I didn't have to much trouble with him, but i can see a newer player thinking he is impossible(especially with how he punishes healing, which i love).
I was taking my SL100 faith build into DLC, expected to destroy him. A normal Scythe with SLB (30dex/30fth) only does about 180-200ish dmg forget exact numbers. If that. I was fooling around, and when he buffed i threw a great lightning spear at him, i had full health but i was too slow. 1580hp, he did that jumping attack from a distance...1shot. 1580hp. NG...Can't wait to fight these bosses in NG+.

I think it was great and we can't be ungrateful. I know we always would want more, but let's not forget that there were no intentions to create extra content in tne first place nor a PC version of the game, so with that said I am very happy with what I received.
The content is fun and challenging and for new players can be a fully beast mode. If you want challenges, then they gave u an option: wear the calamity ring and go all the way through ng +(x).
Overall the dlc is great, it added fun boss fights, new gear and lore, but I love the most its is replayable value cooping the bosses and Oolacile town which is a blast.
Thank you FROM.

I loved the second I entered it was like "boss time muhaha!" But yea, the content itself was very short, I would compare it to going through the entire darkroot forest area in playtime- more or less.
Loved the new bosses, but it felt a little rushed IMO. You got to think though, making 4 new bosses with unique movesets is a lot of work, so i wont complain. Oh well, still got the arena to look forward to, maybe some day ill get a match lol (im on pc).
P.S. im a noob (still in NG) so I have no idea what the new patch/items brought to the table, but im sure its great.

I enjoyed it and feel that it lived up to the value. Ya it's not the longest piece of DLC in the world but then again when you are all ready experienced with Dark Souls you kind of can get through a lot of places quickly if you know what you are doing. I found the bosses quite fun especially Artorias. Though cutting off the tails for Kalameet and the Sanctuary Guardian took me forever and were slightly annoying to get since you have to bait one attack that actually has them put the tail on the ground for you, but they were fun fights too. I also liked Manus, he was a challenge. His physical attacks weren't hard to dodge but his magic just destroys my character (I was using a strength build and some meduim weight armor, so no fast roll for me). In total it took me ten hours just from all the exploration and gameplay, but I enjoyed all of it and have to still try the arena mode.
The only qualms I have are the few secret/hidden door ways, no new miracles, and that we can't get any of Chester's fighting equipment. I would like to have his throwing knives, his overly sized sniper crossbow, and that sweeping kick.

It is amazing blood, it not only makes pvp more enjoyable but also pve. Actually the new content is amazing for co op. The new bosses are just as good if not better(i would say better) then 4kings and O&S.

Thoroughly enjoying it. 9/10 for me
Manus and Kalameet are simply amazing boss fights, and the new gear all looks awesome. The atmosphere in every new area is very good. It is a bit short, but the replay value is huge;
-Multiple playthroughs to collect all the items
-Multiple build playthroughs to make use of the new itmes
-Looking for secrets
-Endless cooping on the fun Bosses
-Challenge runs
-And, well PvP
When do we start the petition for the next Souls game

I really enjoyed the DLC. It was short, but sweet. The new bosses and enemies make the game more enjoyable. Some of the original bosses, that were already in the game, were not that great. Having the new bosses help re-balance the game in terms of challenge and for the sake of enjoying the game. Almost brings back the epic and nostalgic feel of Demon's Souls, imo.
On top of that, the new gear, weapons, magics, areas, and enemies were very well worth the price.

QUESTION:
Does the DLC come with instructions or do you have to figure everything out by yourself?
