I've heard that it's not that hard to get,

- just wait for it to do it's dive attack, roll to one side to avoid being hit, run up behind it, hit once, and repeat until the tail is yours

Baiting the attack where he opens up his tail is by far one of the more rage inducing moments I've had in a while in Dark Souls. I have yet to get it, I gave up cause Kalameet is a little too tough for me still on NG+, ended up just killing him.
Definitely something that needs to be done in co-op. Still possible solo if you like dying a couple of times. Haha.

I prefer trying to bait the close range flame breath or rolling twice when he does the feet slam thing. It also doesn't help that the tail has a ridiculous amount of HP.

Gazman, I'm not a tiger silly. No, but I've tried all the tactics I've seen on Youtube. But whenever he dives he go to far. I've beaten him solo already on my Dex/Mage. But I just can't get the D**** F*** MY*** Po*** gdghfhdjo tail.

Pmsl, I'm yet to experience the pleasure that you are going through, but I've no doubt that I will approach it in the same eloquent manner as you when I do! In the words of my eldest daughter's favorite cartoon character "Just keep swimming!", and I'm sure you'll get it eventually. I got it solo. Took some time and at least 10 estus and 10 humanity, but got it.
Black Knight shield +5, still really close to him, roll every attack and block the flames. Watch out because he might use his "calamity debuff" attack. If he does and hits you, just lock on him and keep the shield up while retreating until the debuff dissapears.
Wait for him to stand in two feet and do his close fire breath (sorry for grammar, really don't know how to write this
) circle and hit his tail.
I don't know how to bait him to do this specific attack, but I got it after some time, pure luck I guess.
