White Slab Drop Rate?

I've probably killed a 100 of those damn pinwheels with max humanity and the serpent ring, haven't found a single slab.

Edit: Sad part is I'm going to have to farm those octopus demons for the red slab after

51 White Chunks, no slab

I've never had slabs drop from them, just the masks and the chunks

I'm looking for the slab as well, anyone have any figures instead of "very rare" saw a youtube video of it dropping, but not sure how many runs that took!!! Not sure if its worth farming for or just going through to NG+ and picking up the one off the corpse.

Its not worth it trust me. I got around 90 chunks off of them and no slab with max item discovery. You may as well start a new game like I did.

Since a new runthrough can go pretty quickly, and farming can take hours upon hours, just do a new runthrough. It will probably take less time, especially since you can get a white slab quickly in a new runthrough.

It seems to me, that even if it was so rare, some people would just get it on the first run through. If the drop is random, you should have a chance of it just dropping when you're not looking for it. And, I haven't heard of that happening.

I've heard of people farming for days to get titanite slabs from the darkwraiths. Just do a new run and you'll get 2 of them. Same goes for the whites (but you'll only get one, unless you are lucky). Still shorter than days of farming (brings back pure bladestone memories).

where is the white slab anyway/ never picked it up in any of my file and my next char is going to be built around an occult darksword(cosplaying chrona from soul eater) and i want to upgrade it to max...

It's in the ToG, where the pinwheels are. It is in one of the nooks.

aggh baby skellies, hate those buggers... i can snipe the pinwheels easy but...

My 2 cents on farming chunks and slabs...

It seems to me that stuff drops more frequently using the symbol of averice rather than the serpent item. I know the item drop number is the same but it seems like the averice has a hidden bonus of some sort.

As well things seem to drop more while in human form rather than hollow. This has been discussed before but no determination was ever declared to my knowledge. Go human if you can.

Killing the boss in the area seems hinder the drop rate. I was able to get two white slabs in five runs. After nito went down I haven't seen any. I'll hit the tomb every so often to farm humanities.

Off-line drop rates on chunks is higher than on-line. On-line drop rate for slabs is higher than off-line. I have never seen a slab drop when farming off-line...but chunks drop often. All the slabs I ever got dropped while farming on-line.

BTW you have a second to put the symbol of averice on after killing a pinwheel...you have to be fast. You can also line up the shot and swap out the symbol before shooting...if you are sniping.

On a side note...using the serpent and the averice seem to cancel each other out killing the drop rate all together.

I know the standard deviation people are going to chime in that I have no math to back things up...true. This is just my observations after playing one character through NG+++ and a PVP character through the four kings and lord vessle. Your experiance may vary.

They dropped a slab for me my first time through on my latest guy. No farming, just trying to beat the level and bam, there it was.

Definitely no serpent ring, but I don't recall how much humanity. Probably more than 10 though, so item discovery of 210.

I have no need for the slab. If you are xbox and around level 80 (I have been leveling him) I would trade it for any dragon scales you might have.

I tried this in human, 99 humanity, and the ring, I think you just got lucky is all.
