Hosting Duels in Dark Anor Londo on X-box... so I summon a phantom whom already knows what is going on, and whenever an invader shows up, I bow, then back up and stop moving, allowing my phantom to fight the invader, 1 vs 1, with no aid or healing... When the invader wins, I bow, drop a humanity (to heal), and once he picks it up and uses it, I begin the fight myself.

Isn't this, honestly, a reasonably honorable duel? So why do I get so much hatemail about being a farmer and all this BS? Here is a second incident I often have happen.

When normally playing through an area, I always have a phantom with me; but when an invader shows up, I always motion for my phantom to not participate and execute the invader 1 vs 1... I get tons of complaints from the invaders even during these 1 vs 1 fights, like it's illegal for me to even have a phantom at the time they invade, and I should be black crystalling my phantom out when they invade me, inconveniencing me...

Honestly, I could just double team the person via the phantom and myself both attacking, but I never do... When I do fight with honor, why is it that so many people will accuse me of treachery anyway?

Sounds like your doing everything right, pimple faced teenaged boys gonna rage anytime they lose, so dont take the hate mail too heart. Delete and or block and move on. Keep the faith. Prayer

Righto, of course, there is one key sign opposition can do that will make me jump into the fray usually. When they are fighting the phantom, and use a humanity when I've not been flasking, I throw the phantoms HP up to max with flasks then jump in and maul them as punishment; otherwise I do keep duels as a 1 vs 1. The other que to get ganked is chainstabbing; both of those get me breathing down your neck. That is fine, correct?

Sounds good to me. I've never had anyone stand back and drop a humanity instead of double teaming me. By the way, when you're playing through an area, I don't think you need to abide by any 1v1 rules. IMO, during questing, your goal is to kill the boss -- nothing more and nothing less.

Right on, gota look after your phantom at times like that. Just remember if they are lame enuff to cry and hatemail over fair fighting then they are not worth mailing back to explain as you will not win as they are always right(well they think they are)

Wish you were on ps3 you sound like a good host to pvp with.

I'm usually a good host, I've got good honor but I am prone to making level 35 chars to pick on people with; (generally equipped with only +5 gear at best though!) chaotic good would be my alliance honestly, since I'm prone to good but can be pretty evil sometimes. (usually you can tell if it's one of those days, I fight completely different when I'm ganking = ( )

During questing I keep to the 1 vs 1 rules primarily because I can always reclaim my souls if I die, and the boss isn't too important anyway... but questing did remind me of one of my other 'gank' buttons... If you stand next to the monsters, I am incredibly likely to charge you with the aid of my phantom for attempting to be a jerk...

Mostly, I'm a nice host until you break even the smallest rule in my code of honor, then I become the worst jerk on the server = D

I've never NOT been double teamed. Not sure the justification for the hatemail, sounds like some peeps are butthurt because they lost in a fair battle.

I think you got it there.... If they lose 2v1 they can say they only lost because of gangbang, cant handle a loss 1 on 1, hurts their ego too much.

I've +10'd a sack before, I used it on a Black Knight Great Sword using char, with only a sack and no clothing. It was epic.

I was in love with it as soon as I hit the Gargoyles in the start of the game for a 1 shot kill... That weapon is seriously the most damaging weapon in the game, hitting over 700 damage in PvP consistantly, and doing enough poise to even knock a havel down...

I ended up quitting the char after one jerk (I had no other word to describe him) demonstrated an ability to parry over 30 different weapons I owned.
