Chester Set Passive
It says that it silences your footsteps. Can anyone confirm this? If so, then I know exactly how I'm finishing this build

Yeah I noticed that. My toon is wearing it now though, and I can still hear the footsteps

Re: Chester Set Passive
It doesn't completely silent them but different armors do have different sounds and different ranges from where enemies can hear you in a specific armor. Let's just say it makes you very very very quiet but not silent.

Re: Chester Set Passive
It's kind of like Ciaran's armor set as well. It says they are silent assassins but the armor is not completely silent but it is very quiet when running and walking.

Pretty much, haha. But think about it. It would kind of OP if you could have a silent footsteps buff from your armor and have rings and consumables.

There's a consumable that makes you silent?!THEOGLUIGI wrote:JoeBroski09 wrote:A nerfed Slumbering Dragoncrest ring?THEOGLUIGI wrote:It doesn't completely silent them but different armors do have different sounds and different ranges from where enemies can hear you in a specific armor. No, I just mean, most armors in the game don''t have special buffs for stamina, sound, etc, or any for that matter I think. But being able to have a armor buff and any kind of ring buff and any kind of consumable buff would be a little much.

Re: Chester Set Passive
How do I get these armor sets? Chester's, Ciaran's, Gough's? Do I have to kill the NPCs, or is it a special event?
Also, I got the tracers from Ciaran, and now she's gone. Did I miss out on her armor?

Yes, you missed out on her armor. All armors you get from killing the NPC's. I hate knowing I'm going to kill Gough but he will be back in NG+.

***... I'm a little upset about missing her armor because this is a female toon... I wasn't going to attack her while she was grieving over the tombstone she made for Artorias--WTF From?!

Dude, From is cray! Also is it like DeS, where only a female can wear female sets? Or can a male wear the Lord Blades set?

All armors are unisex (both can wear). Also, some even have gender variants (hint: the female versions are all better!).

Elite Knight Armor, baby... I thought it looked cool before I saw that everyone else was using it!
I'm so hipster. At least I'm not using the Dingy chest. That's REALLY hipster.

Re: Chester Set Passive
Every armor in the game fits into different sound categories...this is easily checked by rolling, some make metal sounds, chainmail sounds or a much more quiet sound. These armors that don't make much noise generate less aggro than the other armors. I think only the chestpiece counts for this, by the way.
It's the same with that armor that says that it "impedes stamina recovery", all heavy armors actually impede stamina recovery, but not all of them say it in the description.

Re: Chester Set Passive
So I got the armors (except Ciaran's :x), and here's my current setup: (female character) Chester's Top-hat, Wanderer Coat, Artorias Gloves and Legs, with the Gold Chaser 2-handed. Just wanted to share, because it's a pretty cool look! Also, very eclectic.
