New invader spawn point added in Painted World?

The only spawn point I know about is the one on the bridge. I always spawn there, and people invading me always spawn there.

Once I got an invasion message, and I kept staring at the path leading to the bridge. Then suddenly the red phantom is right behind me! He acts like he is going to back stab me, but then quickly runs away and says "Hello!" (The voice was creepy. It was like a booming voice, but without the boom.)

I was looking at the path leading to the bridge the whole time after the invasion message appeared. I was standing on the top of the stairs past the fire, and I was always able to see invaders from that location. I think another spawn point was added in the Painted World.

Have I gone crazy?

There have always been (at least) 3 spawn points in the PW.
1. At the bridge.
2. one at the locked door that leads to the Annex.
3. one at the top of the level, where you can find the RSS.

Seriously!?, I've played this game about 5 times. I spent a lot of time here with my PvP build. How did I miss this?

Most people invade from the bonfire. Because you get more action from there, and because you don't have to run anywhere to get your bloodstain.
I usually invade from the annex spawnpoint, because I wont get spawnganked at the bridge that way.
