Lol. I saw a post on that earlier and spoiled it myself. I'm just happy they did it honestly. Otherwise it's a big gap.

Regarding Chester, he's what's called a "heel" in wrestling terms. His character is designed to be hated. With that being said, I've always loved the heels in wrasslin' and Chester is no exception. He's done almost flawlessly. The perfect heel wraps you in and gets you emotionally involved and then gives a reason for the hate. The more involved you were the more you hate him in the end. I think he does just enough to show he's a villain while most of his existence is just pulling you in deeper. I couldn't stop visiting just to see if he had new dialogue.

I hate Chester personally but simultaneously love the character if that makes sense. The game is much richer with. Plus his coat + bloated head and almost any gauntlets and leggings makes a perfect Skarekrow outfit.

So, if this is a rambling topic I'll ask this:
why everyone hate Chester so much? Did I miss something? He's expensive but he got STYLE!! (Yeah, I've been invaded)

Maybe reason is way he speak, his voice and words just easily gives an idea that he is not a good guy? Same way as it might be with Lautrec or Shiva. And of course the fact that he invades you.

    Ah, ok.
I thought maybe I missed something big, like... you're fighting Manus and you're almost winning and he suddenly puffs out of the blue and stabs you in the back, after giving poisonous meat to Sif, and then robs you of all your humanities while you are rantling.

Well, I don't dislike him one bit! It's clear he's not good but there are all kinds of creepy humans in this game that I hate, Chester is kinda cute and his voice is EPIC. well he invades you but a lot of NPCs do that and I didn't hear so much hate towards, let's say, Kirk!
Also, I love his combat style!
At least he doesn't push you down some hill or something...

How can anyone hate Chester? He's the coolest dude in this game. Apart from Oscar.

He's better than Petrus - Patches - Lautrec too big grin (Damn I hate Lautrec! I also hate the crestfallen warrior )

And Chester's dressed to kill! I mean, I'd kill for that dress. I mean, I already killed him to get the dress :pirat:

I don't know, when I first saw the artbook I thought "I'm glad they didn't include this guy, he doesn't fit at all in Dark Souls!" Buuuuuut he's awesome in that corner with the stylish candles big grin

Anyway, why the hell is he there? Maybe I'm wrong but I doubt it's a great spot for selling goodies...
Uhm, it seems to me in Lordran merchants don't usually choose great spots for visibility, look at Domhnall :suspect:

He is stuck there. He's just waiting somewhere he can keep track of those who enter the township so he can invade them.

I think Domhnall is waiting for the next corpse to rob. He's like Patches except no traps and he knows when a high class corpse is available

I have to admit that always keep maybe boring way of view towards Domnhall. I just think the thing that he sells bosses armors is just a gameplay thing. Way to give them little harder way than looting them from boss' corpe and same time Domnhall is enough "mysticall" character that it doesnt kinda break lore things. But yeah I think it is only gameplay thing. (though this is off topic)

And Chester have maybe half of the Manus' pendant as do the player? It seems he has also meet Elizabeth or at least mushroom lady has seen him as she descripes Chester to you.

Since chester invades you it means he has his own world and his half of the broken pendant is the same as yours, just from a different world.

Anyone figure out whether or not they refer to Undead or going Hollow in the DLC, officially?

If they don't, maybe it makes sense there's no Undead Burg or Undead Parish?

Something in the dark sorceries wording got me thinking. It talks about the human souls being made of humanity, giving it greater punch. So what are normals souls then?

Miyazaki references the Dark sorceries today he said.....
“Oolacile is a kingdom of sorcery that had been ruined when the
original story unfolded,” explains Miyazaki. “The additional content is
set about a hundred years before Oolacile was ruined. In this kingdom,
the sorceries are peculiar light spells that are different from the
common ones in the original story.” Oolacile spells from the original
game tended to be non-offensive and even charming magic – producing
light, hiding things, disguising yourself. Tricks.

But in this Oolacile you find ridiculously strong dark magic and
pyromancies. Sorceries designed to kill in direct, high-damage ways. “As
one of the main themes of Dark Souls is 'fire and dark', these light
spells also include darkness that occurred from the gap between them,”
says Miyazaki. “The darkness leads to the Abyss, which is a keyword this
    time.”

I believe this helps prove what I was saying the other day. About life coming from the shadow of the first flame aka. the First Shadow. I know we were talking about the Witches not being human the other day and I did some research and posted it up. But I still believe they come from the same pool as the Pygmy,Gywn etc, and have some Human relationship.

I couldn't find any text dumps but I went back threw the DLC attempted to exhaust all dialogue with everyone... Still was only called "Human" not Undead, or Hollow. Undead curse might not exist yet.... or this event may be the cause of it's spreading....

OK so i havent been on the forum in some time as my laptop is broken (currently using an extreamly slow laptop shared by the family) so sorry i have only been able to skim read some previous pages and therefore have missed out a lot of data.

Question: have we yet established that all power comes from souls and only dragons were created with souls.
Question: have we yet established that all the gods are just humans with powers from gwyns lord soul.
Question: have we yet established that kaathe is evil

yes i did just copy and paste the first part of those questions.

Like the movie Hero. In war the side that's "right" or "good" is the one you agree with. I think they're both evil
