I miss dwgr ninja flip

I don't miss it in PvP, fights make a lot more sense now. My main gripe against it wasn't how silly it looked in Havels, but how silly it looked when someone was holding a dragon's tooth or zweihander or something. The DWGR could make you run fast in Havels so it wasn't that visually disruptive to then flip, but it did nothing for attack speeds. Your attack swings are slow as heck, but you can instantly flip off into the distance with a weapon that heavy? I don't think so.

I do miss it in PvE. Midrolling against Artorias or particularly the walking spamfest known as Manus is not a walk in the park.

i remember in a thread a LONG time ago (probably under the whole forum layout) i mentioned how the DWGR should only give the flip under 25% and people called me stupid.

Well, the thing is, we're all stupid now.

Im actually very happy to see it nerfed, means I don’t have to feel the need to use it because it (used to) provide a strategic advantage now its mostly cosmetic.

With it nerfed I think the game has more atmosphere as far as PVP goes.

P.s when they nerfed great swords (swing speeds) the made regular swords like the dark sword more viable.

I don't miss the ninja flip because I rarely used it.
I do very much miss the movement speed in particular the sprint speed. Mostly for running around in PVE getting from place to place quickly.

Edit- I wish there was a ring that only increased movement speed with out the flipping.

the current dwgr builds i've been seeing since patch are naked people with massive clubs spamming the practically unparryable 2handed rolling attack and abusing the hell out of the invincibility frames, but their naked or are dragons so if they couln'dt dodge they'd die in an instant...

I'm definitely missing it with my dragon, which is also coincidentally the build I brought into the DLC areas last night. I tend not to use it with my other builds anyway, but my dragon kinda needs it to be as effective as he once was. Being super fast definitely part of my strategy there. Also is it just me or has the weight ratio to the other flips slightly changed also? I could be wrong, and that's very possible because I haven't played in awhile before last night, but I was playing around with a couple of builds that I had considered complete builds before last night, like guys that I had at 120 and had set up with all fully upgraded equipment, usually that allowed them to have the highest armor possible and still medium roll, and it seems like I loaded a lot of them to find them suddenly fatboy rolling. Am I wrong?

I'm glad it got nerfed and I used it on my pvp build of full Catarina with Zweihander, Balder Side Sword and Grass Crest Shield and I was able to ninja flip around like crazy. I felt so OP being able to flip around and poke people with the Zweihander. It has honestly forced me to change my strategies in PVP and also made so many other rings much more important and useful.

I still have a dex build with the ring and it makes much more sense having lighter armor for the faster move speed.

Also PlasticandRage, what has changed about the other rolls, mid roll and heavy, is not that they have different caps but they got a "boost" to be on par with the ninja and light roll. You recover a little faster from them. But the armor makes sense, it's probably the weapons that they have equipped making them fat roll, not the armor.

I've been fast and mid rolling for about a month now, so I hardly even notice the difference...other than the fact that my prey is suddenly easier to catch >=)

Always preffered midroll anyway. Oh, and Noob...

That's weird. I could have sworn I had them set up to mid roll when I last played them. Maybe I changed something equipment wise and don't remember doing it. It was months ago after all. I don't really mind the flip being nerfed other than that. I only really ever used it for my two builds who it fits for anyway.
