Did the developers patch Ceaseless Discharge?

I just tried facing Ceaseless discharge for the first time in months and I noticed that the method in between the rocks doesn't work anymore.

But the Ceaseless discharge doesn't swing his arm in there anymore. When he does its a very quick hit and he doesn't leave it in there anymore. Did anyone else encounter this? Maybe its new with the patch?

I have no idea how to beat this guy now. I guess its kind of good because it'll force me to figure out a different way.. I'm kinda scared to face him head on though.. lol

Yes, I rang the second bell. I guess they must have patched it. That method didn't work for me. Maybe it'll work on a second try?

He's actually not that hard once you get up close.

He seems intimidating, but he's really easy, all it takes is a dodge or two and you've got control of the battlefield.

Edit: Keep in mind you have to fight in on the right side land which is the biggest area to fight him for it be possible or you may fly into the lava.

That's a good idea.. I'm thinking I should get a great shield of artorias before I face him. I wonder if its possible to fight him coop.. I've never seen summon signs near that area.

Actually i fail right now as i mistook this for the Centipede demon. However the same thing actually applies for Ceaseless. Make sure to dodge his attacks. And if you're still after that quick kill, make sure (if you have died) to run from the Gold Hemmed set and then on the right path behind the cliff to the fog gate. He will jump and all you have to do is hit him until he falls down to his death. Keep in mind to dodge and he really isn't hard at all. If you know how to handle the dodges you could fight him face to face as well, although i rarely do this myself as the boss simply seems like a time waster.

For everyone who is having trouble getting ceasie to jump and die - notice that the limb that he attacks the guy with in this video. Normally ceasie keeps that limb inside his ribcage, you have to lure him into pulling it out (by going near where he spawns and running around until he does it) so he can use it to attack, THEN you can pull him to the fog gate. Otherwise he will just shoot fire at you until you die.

Yes, you can do coop, but it works better if you set it up.with a friend or something, because finding summon signs is not easy at all.
By the way, I've been playing on pc and I still always kill him the easy way... You know, running back to the fog gate and hit bis arm until he falls to the lava pit.

Thanks. I beat it in my NG + file.. I'm lvl 122 in that one, if you want to coop on that, I'm game.

I just started a new game about a week ago to prepare for this new DLC. I'm lvl 52 in my NG.

I noticed the old rock method sort of works still.. u just have to run toward the middle of the rocks, then quickly run back to a safe are before he hits you. Unfortunately his reach is pretty far and he's been hitting me a lot. I think the developers definitely patched it tough.

I actually never tried that way by the fog gate. I'll give it a shot next time. Hopefully it wasn't patched up.

I don't think they would patch that. It's an optional way to fight him, like the Iron Golem falling off the level. It's intentional, so they can't possibly have patched it.

Oh ok. I didn't know that it was intentionally.. First I've heard of the Iron Golem falling too. That's what I love about this game.. there's always new methods to defeat an enemy to discover.

Power within and a high stability shield owns Ceaseless. All you do is bait his attack, let your shield absorb the blow (or go for dodging if you're <25%) and then wail on him. Rinse & repeat maybe 4-5 times.

Well, since you're interested i might as well point out that Ornstein can apparently fall to his death somehow. I have never seen or faced it myself, however i believe it has been mention on this forum. Were it however to be true, don't be surprised if that has been patched.

At least in the PC edition, he's now more intelligent, and it's harder to get him to fall down the bottomless pit...
