BS in PVP

i cannot bs in pvp to save my life (so i ususally end up dying):oops: . i've watched the youtube video 3 or 4 time already, but i still haven't got the hang of it in dks. any suggestions?

guess that would help, huh? dex/ faith usually using balder sword or uchi/ iatio and light to med armor.

i find a good tactic to land backstabs is to trick the enemy into running/sprinting directly at you, go towards his left shoulder. seems to be the best way i can backstab people.

just practice. and try to not only go for backstabs, as most people will spot that easily and punish you for it.

if you haven't already pick up a pryo glove and upgrade it, if your build is dex/faith itd be a perfect addition. at 45 dex pyro spells cast insanely quickly, due to dex increasing cast time and stopping at 45.

i went from 35 dex to 45 dex when i wanted to try my pyro hand again, and man oh man, 45 dex is insane for a pyro, great combustion probably being the best. although i keep lots of regular combustion charges as well just to spam it.

thanks for the advice. do you know if dex improves casting time for offensive miracles? i've read conflicting posts on the subject.

It does. As far as practicing backstabs, just practice on normal mobs in the burg if that's the play style you want to use.

Yeah, backstab is a tricky thing. At first you can't seem to figure out how to the hell to do it, but it's like riding a bike... the second you get it, you've got it for good

I use backstabs quite often in pvp. Some things that help me are not locking on, a lot of people will let you walk around them while they're trying to attack. It takes some practice but you can do it. Next if someones casting or swinging a heavy weapon roll behind them, you're now set up to bs if you're quick enough. Having 40ish poise helps a lot also, you can get this from medium armor. This lets you take a hit before you're stunned letting you make a mistake here and there. Lastly the dwgr is almost necessary, being faster than most players means you can backstab them that much easier.

Like said earlier don't only go for backstabs. A lot of people know how to deal with backstabbers and will make you pay for trying to bs. If you want to learn more complex ways of backstabbing check out EWGF on youtube. A lot of people think some of the backstabs he does are unethical so view and copy at your own risk.

dont see why pivot backstabs are frowned upon, ive tried and can never land them. most backstabs i do are locked on.

pivot just seems like a more complex way to backstab. because if someone rolls away they are not even in your sight anymore if you're not locked on. so avoiding pivot backstabs should be even easier than regular. at least thats my view.

constant backstabing is wrong its just a boring tactic to win

specially chain backstabs where you imdeiatly backstab someone when they get up and there's nothing they can do because of the lag


great combustion is quite broken because it is quite hard to avoid (yes it is) why? due to lag because once a guy would cast great combustion at me i rolled away from it and was like what 8 feet away from the guy when he casted it and i was still hit

if oyu cast great combustion as soon as someone gets up i consider your a noob in my eyes because you're not even letting a guy get up

Pivot is forwned upon due to lag
because on host's screen his opponent is right in front of him and he is swinging at the guy

while on the opponen't screen he has dodged the attack and backstabed him

so yeah lag delay




for me pretty much backstabing is pretty much the sign that you are a wuss that cannot win without backstabing which is shamefull because you see people with havel's armor lagstabing can't they just hit normally like what man's do?

but i can assure you IF you say you think chain backtabs is not a cheap tactic you are the biggest noob i've ever seen

bs isn't something that i want to make a career of. i don't really invade so most of my pvp is a result of me or my host being invaded. i would like to have a tactic against being griefed and if you understand a game mechanic you should be able to counter it imhop.
