Question about people leaving the arena early and win streaks Empty Question about people leaving the arena early and win streaks

Post by fujiphoenix Sun Oct 28, 2012 9:22 am

So after fighting a guy who spammed WoTG, combustion, and hornet ring back stabs all in the same fight, and another guy who did the same thing, I was pretty annoyed. Then I get matched up with a guy who buffs a zwei and kills me. That isn't a problem, but then he comes over to my spawn, and casts TWoP every time I land, and then wrecks me with his buffed zwei. So after a few failed attempts to purple crystal out, I just decide to dashboard because I'll be damned if I'm going to give him the satisfaction of winning that way. But then I thought of something... Does dashboarding give them a win streak?

Yeah...players dashboard to not to lose their streak. I f*cking hate it because I don't get a win out of them either so I just wasted my time for nothing and wasting your time when doing long streak is annoying because it takes forever as it is...49 streak took me 8-10 hours to complete and I met like 10 of guys like this who just ***** out when losing.

My suggestion: remove the leaderboards from the game for common good.

How does dashboarding not reset their streak? I had to learn the hard way that if you quit and then reload it resets your streak. Look Skyward

Yeh I thought it did. I thought the OP was asking if dashboarding resets your opponent a win or not.

Yeah, that's what the OP was asking, but it was said that people sometimes dashboard not to lose their streak.

On PSN last night, the guy at the top of the Leaderboards had a streak of 260+.....there's just no way he has that already without dashboarding or doing something else fishy.

No no no no no no, I was asking if he got a win added to his streak. I don't give a crap if I lose a streak. I do the arena for fun, not for bragging rights. I was just hoping that he wouldn't get the reward of a streak when I dashboarded. Since he was spawn camping me with TWoP I knew he was one of those people who think its important to get it as high as possible. I just sought to rob the douche of his victory.

What's the problem with TWoP and a Zwei? Just parry him. Or block until TWoP fades off, it's just 10 secs.

Because not every one is good at parrying? I'm decent at it, but I don't have 72 poise to tank a hit if I mess up. It doesn't help that UGS and UGA are the weapons that give me the most trouble.

What you mean? If you miss a parry, you get a half-block, which does reduced damage to you, eats a bit of stamina, but has no effect on poise.

You only get a partial parry if you miss it by a tiny bit. I almost never get partials. Its usually either a hit or a miss. You talk like I should be guarantied a partial if I mess up. That's not even close to how it works.

Sadly getting at least partials on your parries is almost guaranteed for most people now. The community is getting better as whole so when someone says "just parry them," it's just a given that you can. Not saying you need parrying, it's just mainstream now.

Well, if don't get a partial parry, then you must be really bad (no offense), it's very easy to parry just the moment you see your enemy hit you, because of lag, it will fail but perform a partial parry. Now, actually parrying requires to do it a bit before (almost guessing), but as I said, partial parry is easy as hell to do. It's better to block though.

So what you are saying is it is easy to get a partial if you're trying to...and even then it's better to block instead. I see no reason why I'm bad because I try to actually parry them, and fail, rather than try to partial and succeed. You make no sense man.

You misunderstood me. I'm saying that getting partial parries is easy as hell, because it would be like parrying in PvE, where you have to parry right before the attack hits you. In other words, that's what most people new to parrying would do, try to parry as they do to mobs.

Actually parrying requires more skill, you almost have to guess because of the lag, you have to do the parry before your enemy starts swinging his weapon, that's why it's better to parry an enemy who does 2 attacks, and parry the 2nd swing.

While trying to parry a player, it's almost guaranteed that you get a partial parry, unless you don't know how to parry at all (against monsters).

    This.

I don't even care for the arena anymore because of the oh so boring gameplay.

As for spawnkilling, the thought hadn't hit me. How could they miss something like that? :|

Well, i'm glad i never got the chance to be spawnkilled. I'd probably ragequit Dks all together. :pale:

I though that you don't spawn always at the same platform? Isn't it random? It may happen that you spawn twice on the same, but I though you spawn on the four eventually.

Nope its the same one every time. Also Chiz, I have no problem parrying katanas, strait swords, daggers great swords and great axes. My trouble weapons are halberds, scythes, and ultra great weapons. I still fail about 99% of the time with those weapons, except the BKGA, that sh!ts candy lol.

Still, kind of sad finding out it's like that. Just ruins the arena even more. sad

I recommend you to practice parrying in the arena (because you respawn if you fail). I once met a guy, who helped a lot at parrying. We fought like 3 times, he won. Then I asked him that if we fought again, we could practice parries instead, and bam, 2 fights of parrying practice and now I'm a master (just kidding).

I think the easiest thing to parry, it's a greatsword 1-handed.
