    A lightning Washing Pole hit me for around 150 to be exact. Later, I faced a lightning Murakumo; the damage from that thing was around 400, but I would mark it as 350. I'll have you know I was wearing semi-full Giants (no helm, cause ugly), which does play a considerable factor, but I can say that good defenses against elemental does indeed cause them to be VERY weak for their weapon type.

    I like this patch. Scaling got a buff with the 10% nerf to elementals (meh, 8% to chaos) (which in turn can be read as a 10% buff to scaling). It might not seem like a lot, but people should recall the whole thing of how damage works...

    You know, low AR is considerably weakened as opposed to large AR (Ar has increasing returns, in short), meaning 10% could actually reflect higher against well armored opponents. In addition, that split damage goes through 2 defenses, so the damage is weakened MORE...TWICE.

    I keep hearing that scaling got better but my weapons aren't any stronger than before this patch showed up. So what's up with that? o_O

    Oh don't get me wrong I have 1 elemental build and I never use it....I have 12 different builds all stat scaling....I understand how it all works and the way elementals will change....as well as high resist to a certian elements making them do a lot less and that they are going through 2 defenses.....but I don't care what your wearing my chaos +5 mura even after the patch with a 8% reduction is hitting for waaaaaaaaaaaaay more than 120 hp....even full black knight set wouldn't do than!

    But you know that you just said one was hitting for around 400....I can't speak for a elemental WP I hate that weapon!

    Ya bro that thing couldn't have been maxed out....I only made the comment because I am a huge Mura guy and the only elemental build I have ever made was a elemental 120 mura build....he fast rolls in full kirks and uses wolf for 80 poise lol!

    I never use the lightning but a chaos still hits like a tank....nothing like a 28 str 40 dex but not to shabby!

    Okay back to DKS can't wait guys getting ready offline as we speak lol!!

    i fought two guys tonight in the forest and they were using chaos(fire) katanas and eah hit did around 150 and im pretty sure those were maxed out. the only elemental weapons that wont seem weak at all will be big weapons i think.

    M experiences with the patch so far lead me to suppose that the Darkwood Grain Ring is still the most powerful ring, provided you can get it on. However, that might be me just being used to the timings. I'll hold off judgement till I have comparable experience with the Light Roll, but a whole handbag's worth of the more dubious tricks are much harder to do with just the light-roll. However, since everyone seems to be using poise under 51 if they are light-rolling, I've been able to have a lot more fun with my off-hand Zweihander combos; they can be absurdly deadly.

    I agree roan, i wouldn't say most powerful, but DWGR is still up there as being one of the best rings(top 3 at least) for pvp. The advantage of the i-frames and mobility will become a lot more obvious to the people who only used the DWGR for the added equip and didn't understand why so many people considered it broken.

    Yes the DWGR will be one of the best, but they actually WILL need to sacrfice somethings such as a USEFUL ring slot

    I've been giggling like a schoolgirl ever since I got this patch last night. The elemental nerfs hammered fire/lightning while leaving chaos @ 10 humanity relatively unharmed. Better still, as a % of AR they're much more punishing to lighter dex weapon DPS; my chaos greatsword +5 lost maybe 70 AR and still has almost 700. And people now either have to ditch poise, midroll, or get rid of the RoFap to structure some sort of havels/DWGR or havels/Wolf setup that leaves them with no hp or stamina. Whatever they pick, nothing can escape my suddenly ridiculously OP chaos greatsword. I went 22-1 last night in free range PvP at sl 55, with the one loss coming to a chain backstabbing zweihander jockey who couldn't even kill me with the first backstab (another first!) and had to get two Anor Londo sentinels involved after I nearly killed him with a two-handed R2 thrust to the face. Another guy managed to backstab me with a gravelord greatsword and did barely 300 damage before I turned him into a shishkebob. It was the best night of my life.
