    I'm currently on NG+++, and was working on following Siegmeyer's quest correctly, just to get the titanite slab. Up until now I had usually screwed up at some point, usually jumping down to fight the octodemons, and despite leaving one alive, he'd chase me and fall into one of the pit traps while I was on my way back to talk to Siegmeyer and get his help.

    So, today I finally did it correctly, he helped me and lived, talked to his daughter at Firelink and headed to Ash Lake. While listening to her cry about her father's death and saying she would reward me for helping them up to this point......PSN error, which took me back to the main screen...I waited until I saw the titanite slab and then hit ok, but thought for sure it wouldn't be there.

    Then I logged back in.....and it actually WAS there in my inventory. big grin

    Nice job. After killing the octothings in Lost Izalith did you keep playing or did you bone out or anything? When I do that quest I HB out so he doesn't get poisoned.

    I used a homeward bone for that same reason. I was actually consulting the guide to make sure I did everything correctly...when I went back to Firelink, his daughter simply thanked me after I said I had seen him again, but when I went to Ash Lake they weren't there...I had to return to Firelink a 2nd time, and that's when I got the story of him being on his "final mission" and all. Then after a 2nd trip to Ash Lake, they were there (Siegmeyer was dead) and I got my slab. happy

    Meh.....I was always saving his *** in one way or another. He seemed like a nice guy, though.

    R.I.P. Siegmeyer.

    Mhm, I'm starting to think that Siegmeyer getting poisoned is a myth just like his 'happy ending', I've never seen the purple aura around him nor have I ever seen him die from poison, even when I explore the area after helping him with the Chaos Eaters.

    Anybody has solid proof? :?:

    He is immune to poison. I tried once just to be sure, finished the quest, left him standing there, looked at him for about an hour. He didn't die, so he is immune.

    He is only immune to the poison after the chaos beasts are killed. If you pay attention during the fight Im sure he gets poisoned.

    oregona take a bow (not the weapon sort). You must be one of only ten or so who actually saw the Seigmyer quest through to the end. I haven't managed it yet. If I get him as far as Lost Izalith again I'm going to chain him to a pillar so's he can't jump into the pit.

    I am entirely convinced that there is no way to keep Siegmeyer alive. I've followed his quest through 3 different times, each time going for the good ending, following all the instructions, yet I have never manaqed to have it end without him dying. Shrug

    Once someone posted on the wiki that he got the "happy ending". He claimed that he got both the ring and the slab. However, the post got taken off because no one confirmed it. None of my other sources state anything about a "happy ending".

    Also, why does he ask for purple moss if he is immune to poison. Does he not know he's immune, or is his immunity a glitch?

    I believe the fact that he is immune is only as to avoid the pressure of getting him out of there. Imagine if you were invaded and he was actually being poisoned. You could not possibly teleport to the bonfire. Your only option would be to either quit the game or kick him out of there! KICK!

    So i would assume it's From showing some love. :shock:

    @Dough

    I've never seen him taking poison damage during the fight, and i've done the quest 4 times now. You sure it hasn't been the damage done by the enemies themselves?
