My perfect SL100 build (Red tears of leo)

Pretty self explanatory. Snatch victory from the jaws of defeat with 1k BSS counter-thrusts and devastating rapier crits. Female character with red hair looks awesome with that armour set-up, although if anyone has any cool alternative armour sets that still hit 31 poise i'd be happy to see them. I don't mind stopping vit at 44 to put more end in if someone comes up with a great look, but i'm unlikely to change the weapons.

Will work in the arena, and is good for invading since the damage output rivals that of much higher level characters.

Looks like a pretty solid build to me. My only suggestion is to add a couple of points to Attunement and then get an unupgraded Pyromancy glove and the Power Within Pyromancy. I don't know if you've already considered it, but the +40% extra damage from Power Within would make your already considerable damage even higher.

That said, there's always the risk that the opponent will just turtle while you have it active, so Power Within might not be ideal for all situations.

Very nice build but the havels gauntlets make me un-interested. Also you will come to learn that vitality builds are good for dex building.

The outfit you may not like but it gets the job done at 20 end so that leaves you some room to get more vitality, Also the red tearstone ring isnt good to rely on because once you get it you will just shield poke like a nub.

i wouldn't call 50 vit a vit build as 1500HP is pretty low compared to what 90% of the population rolls with.

also why do havel gloves turn you off?? lol

I like it! Leo + Red Tearstone...I've been wanting to try that myself.

Good build, but i have trouble wearing armor set ups i dont like lol. So many times i could have had a more efficient set up, but i chose the look cool route. Also, do you really think it is worth using crystal weapons? They are slab eaters, and not worth the added damage in my opinion. Otherwise cool build, i have a leo ring set up in the works also.

Since your using a buckler and not a solid shield to hide behind, then trying to get counter pokes from a raised shield is just asking for you to get stunned.

Sooo unless your predicting their moves and attacking RIGHT as they are, then its useless.

Also 50 Vit for 1500 health is weak.

Poise is low IMO.

And PW can easily be avoided when cast. Your better having Great Combustion for shield turtles and if Red Tearstone activates you will see more turtles/dodgers, and GC will go through the shield and you can catch rollers with it.

I hate fighting builds like that, make one mistake and you're dead. It's a strong build for sure, I think we're going to be seeing a lot like that come the DLC. However, I think the 31 poise breakpoint is useless, don't you need 36 to resist 2h kats and polearms?

According to this you only need 31 poise to resist 2H katana and polearms.

Sorry, you're right. I thought it was 36 for some reason.

Like Ghadis said, builds similar to that can be annoying to fight. But they are very effective when used in tandem with someone of considerable skill.

I agree with you on PW but I disagree of everything else. I don't plan to poke behind a shield, that's not what the right is for really. I've used the leo ring plenty with various weapons, it just takes practice, timing and an understanding of range. 1500 vit is plenty at sl100, especially considering that i WANT my RTSR to activate. Post patch greatswords can't stun-lock so I don't need 53 poise anymore.

By the way guys, the whole point of this build is having the Leo ring and RTSR activated at the same time.

I'm not sure about my shield selection or armour set-up at all though, but i think i'll drop the rapier completely.

It's easy to counter this build with a FTH based build, or any build that works well with rapier/spear + shield combo.

Besides tihs, if you plan on using the RTSR effect, it will be easy to kill you with anything because you don't use a 100% phys shield.

And the BSS only works with Leo Ring when you use it's strong attack, which while being awesome, it's a bit slow, and it's easy to counter if missed, and to worsen it up, with RTSR effect on, because of the low health, a counter-attack after you miss with that it's all is needed to kill you.


This is not to bring you down, just to let you know the weaknesses I see so you can make modifications/think strategies to counter them.

I think the build is good but the armor doesn't makes any sense to me lol. Don't mind me though, it's difficult to get 31 poise without increasing more End. I would get a good shield + BSS, but that's only because I like the shield + sword combo. It's better to have the highest HP when using the RTSR, since it'll activate at higher HP remaining that could help you survive better. This means no FAP ring, but you could use Wolf Ring + Leo Ring, and when HP gets low menu swap RTSR in exchange for Wolf's. I would equip mom mask on this one and try to get good looking light armor around it.

I was messing around with my dex knight build after posting, i really like the leo ring. I gotta say though, it isn't as reliable as wolf or hornets. Due to lag, sometimes you just don't get the extra counter damage. I guess that being said, you sometimes get lucky bonus damage due to lag. Regardless, it is not extremely reliable. Getting 500+ dmg with a BSS R2 poke is extremely deadly though. I think it is actually a great idea to just mid roll and stack poise, cause since you're mid rolling people tend to spam on you. bc the poise, i hate dex builds that work with poise...
