Do you know the G. Halberd? That but with lower AR and a R2 thrust I think.

It's just so damned heavy though.

Doesn't seem to be worth it.

If you want to be optimal at all the Giant Halberd is a bad choice, because of the insane weight/stat requirements + bad move-set, but I'd say do it anyways! I almost never see people using it and it's always nice to see variation happy

Damn im away from my keyboard for 20 minutes and when i come back theres 3 replys
Thanks for being fast with that

    Wyrm
Yes I know it, i could probably work with that

    WDTPD?
I can work with that weight, its not the hardest thing to do (you should try putting Goughs bow in a fast roll build

    Juutas
Yeah I like using uncommon stuff sometimes and its nice to see, wish more people would do it
What would you recommed for the setup above because now i think that i might do an optimal as well as a giant halberd one

When I played around with the thing in the forest, I tried to through people off with the r2s. I managed, and while the damage wasn't as amazing as I thought it should be, it still did enough to finish fights. Maybe making it a Leo ring build for the r2s?

I just made it tank like with a corrupted-once knight in shiny armor theme. Menu swap the greatbow since equipload is a precious thing in DLC.

i've used it on fatrollers... and... well i thought it was awesome just for the range, i don't play with the g.hal so i can't compare the ranges... and if you can fastroll with it its roll attack has insane reach.

    Nice

This got me thinking about other unusual weapons and just threw together a few

titanite Catch Pole (Im sure i've never seen anyone using it)
    http://tinyurl.com/9gf6en2

Pickaxe (I've only seen it once)
    http://tinyurl.com/9qcpvkq

Does anyone else have any builds made around strange weapons?

i have a server build that i just made which i like but i might end up deleting since its too similar to may warrior build, here it is http://tinyurl.com/8r3739s and this is my str build set up which uses either the pickaxe or the mace since the r2 is actually really good http://tinyurl.com/9s7orac

edit; btw the giant hal is good but its weak for what it is abd definately viable specially if you fat roll and have tons of poise, ive seen people cosplay the giant knights and kick some *** with it.

the bone wheel build really was just a modified elemental vit build as the best damage comes from elemental paths for the shield, 30 str required to hold it but 20's enough to two hand and have the grass crest on your back which is what i did.

The pickaxe and warpick are both very brutal, on a 56 poise target they can stun in one hit (in my experience) allowing for a solid 3 hit stunlock usually dealing upwards of 1000 damage, the differences between the two are their stat investments and theri r2 attacks, the warpick has the better r2 but c/d str/dex scaling where as the pickaxe has b to a str scaling.

Whips... the regular one found in blight town is best as the notched one does less and the bleed doesn't work as whips can't combo more than 2 hits (r1+r2), these thing have bizarre range and are great for stopping bs fishers when twohanded, to win with them require patience OR a strong buff, my toon wore heavy armor at midroll and did pretty well especially against people who depended on criticals to win.

dual xbows... requires alot of dodging or solid stealth skills, only a little str is required so you can pump vit and end, i used heavy crossbows for this as the avelyn leaves you way to open and the heavy can deal almost as much damage with a faster reload. keep away from everything as crossbows can miss at very close range if you're using the lock-on.

the sniper xbow... slap on a hawk ring and sniper bolts and a pair of binoculars and you can snipe people from one side of the forest to the other, sadly though better results can be obtained from pharis' bow with only a loss of 7.5 range, in exchange for a lighter weapon with s rank scaling and a built in aiming system.

the leftie build was as follows:

I use the gargoyle Halberd, though more for PvE. Am willing to try it for PvP, though first want to finish the storyline...

I actually had some success with a mid-rolling SL120 leo build with a warpick a while ago in FC. It didn't win a whole lot but it was fun. Warpick in the right hand gave me high damage and stun while left hand estoc provided speed and range that the warpick lacked.

I also plan to make a SL35 Anor Londo themed build with the giant's halberd. I don't expect to have much success with it but it's more about RPing as a dark moon.

Another underused weapon I want to try out is the dagger. It's two handed R2 actually has a lot of range and is fast. With an elemental or magic upgrade it could be a nice backup weapon for chipping people out.

i dont know if you 'improved' it, that's just a pyro build with a pickaxe and if you were to use the leo ring only the phys attack gets the boost.

When I say improved I mean that I edited it into something that I like better
Also I dont remember saying anything about the leo ring, as always i kept the second ring slot free so I can change it to whatever I feel like at the time

However if you have any better ideas please feel free to share
