[Small Spoiler] Level 200 PvP....
I'v never seen so much TWoP in my life!! Not even in Gankroot! I just made a level 190 toon to see what it would be like for the 101-200 arena bracket. I thought it would be fun and that due to higher End/Str etc I was going to see some different weapon and armour setups. How wrong I was! People still using lightning weapons and I'd honestly say 60% of my invasions tonight at this level have started with someone casting TWoP and then me using AoE's until they get the picture. Jeez, Seriously? Maybe it's because I'm invading outside darkroot?
I guess this is what it's like outside of the 120 'Honour Cap'. Imma go back to 120

It seems more like you've only had bad luck. I mainly play around the 200s, and i very rarely face off an enemy that even uses the TWoP. :|

Yeah, I moved to Demon Ruins and it's not happening here Think it must've been because I was outside Darkroot and invading the gankers as they make their way back to the forest lol. Where do you usually PvP at 200? Wanted to avoid the Burg etc as that's usually 120. SL190 is not as slow as I'd imagined it be though, which is nice!

I mainly stick to the forest actually, stupid as i am. However, i've made attempts at offering help in Anor Londo but have ended up being summoned for PvP/Ganks and recently i've been dueling/invading in the burg. And just to be clear, i have had duels and invasions in Anor Londo and the forest. I'd avoid Dukes Archives though, not as friendly.
I mainly keep to the forest and burg nowadays though. As for the pvp, if you're still having a hard time finding some proper duels/pvp perhaps we could arrange something? If i'm not mistaken you played on XBL, correct? And i need the training myself so, yeah. Even then, you should just keep trying.
On another note, how's the alternate covenant going?

Honestly I see that in every level not just the high. Even 120. I play at 710 and also 170. You have to understand outside the burg there are no honorable areas. You may get a little at the kiln but besides that DKS world is a free for all. Besides it is good to challenge yourself outside of your comfort zone. You will never improve to a complete game style until you do. People that fight exclusively in a duel setting are not as comfortable or capable in a free for all setting. But if you do both you become more of a complete player capable of handling yourself in any situation. Case in point I encountered a dualist in the forest. Unfortunatley for him he tried to fight the same way he would in a dual. He didnt last long at all. Had he challenged himself more in the pvp game aspects he would have at least put up a better fight and not been outsmarted by tricky tactics. This game is more then just about skill, its also about intelligence. I seen a highly skilled player get out played by a smarter player time and time again. Challenge yourself, you may even suprise yourself by learning more about the pvp aspects of this game. Just my opin

Yeah, I've actually had some good duels before when I've invaded in the forest. They usually throw me off though, because I normally build specifically for gankers when I make a forest hunter toon, and so my gear/spells aren't what you might call conducive to friendly duels
Yeah, we'll definitely set up some duels sometime Covenant rules, of course The alt covenant is going alright. Basically sorted for everything other than the lore and there's a couple more polls I want to post as well. I'm pretty busy with Uni just now though so its just finding the time.

Lorenzo - Yeah, it doesn't really phase me in that way. I know how to handle TWoP + WOG spammers...I spent many an hour as a forest hunter before getting drawn into the dueling areas (though I've never really gone above 120) It just surprised me because I assumed there would be more variety at higher levels

@lorenzo
I don't think doing a ''free for all'' is necessarily gonna teach you how to survive ganking etc. Honestly, i've been taught more within a duel than i have through ''free for all''. So thanks to these duels i find myself much more efficient within pvp. As for smart players and so on, i wouldn't say the pvp is necessary to play in a smart way. I wouldn't claim myself to be smart, but rather creative. I could think of lots of things to throw people off and outsmart them. The way i see things, it's all indivdual. There's no way better than the other, there's only ''YOUR'' way.
@Moogle
Hah, no problem. I mainly do co-op builds myself, so if you were to do a none covenant duel you wouldn't have to worry about me too much.
Looking forward to seeing the covenant starting up though.

Not trying to whine or anything, but just wanted to point out that i wish there was more variety in the play-styles that players have, so i'm REALLY looking forward to the covenant.

Re: [Small Spoiler] Level 200 PvP....
True, Mr. Tart. I'm often surprised when I go back to normal invading at how easy (occassionally boring) invasions can sometimes be because I think that usually the standard of player (within a PvP setting) is often higher in the dueling areas and Fight Clubs as these are the people that are playing more often and playing to better their tactics.
Haha! I don't think you're whining...nice to see enthusiasm You're probably going to hate me when I say this, but I'm considering waiting until just before the DLC hits to start it, for tactical recruitment reasons

I hate you!
Nah, it seems like a good idea. However, how about you hold like these kind of small tryouts to try it all out y'know? And then you actually finalize the covenant when the DLC comes out?
See, you're holding yourself to the plan, but you're not. Smart? Yeah, i know i am. *ego*

i love camping the forest as a GL on my SL200 and facing chaos head on. never really run into TWOP though, but TWOP is easy to counter when you have DSS and WoG or can just put your back to a wall

About Twop, I either thought of something or read this somewhere, I can't remember, but try putting on the Rusted Iron Ring when you get hit with it and let me know what it does.
I've been wanting to try it out myself, but I haven't come across it yet. This is directed at anyone who wishes to give it a go.

Hmmm, I don't think this would work because if it did I think everyone might know about it. Still, I will now go and hunt for a TWoPer and report my findings
Yeah my tactic against TWoP is great magic barrier and then dead angle with wog myself (my sl 190 is a faith/strenght build using Demon Greataxe and the Large Club), or spam the AoE firestorms until it wears off It might not be pretty but it gets the jobe done I don't like to run about until it wears off because I don't like to give people the satisfaction of running away from them

Re: [Small Spoiler] Level 200 PvP....
Tart I would simply agree to disagree on your perspective on PVP. Everyone has their own opinion and the experiance they draw upon. As for variety up at 710 I see alot of it just as much if not more at the so called 120 cap. Of course it is probably due to the fact that up here at max SL 95 perfect of these high level players are japanese many of which tend to be very creative as well as highly skilled fighters. Let me say this: the last few weeks I am encountering people who invade sl 700 who are at times 87, 153, and 256 soul level and below. A few who are very skilled youtubers who dual mostly. They did not last long against these high level toons for the most part. I had one guy tell me had he fought me at 120 he would kill me easy. I fought him 1 on 1 and there was nothing to suggest it would have been any different. Period. As a wise man once said....it is what it is. In one of the other posts it talks about thinking outside the box. Those that dual need to learn this aspect of the game. Hubris is the fall of many great a player. Do not limit yourself to just one aspect of this game, be proficiant in all aspects of it. Just my opin.

Re: [Small Spoiler] Level 200 PvP....
In all honesty, is it really a surprise that you beat someone 613 levels lower than you? Not saying level is everything, but the odds are in your favour.
In other news: I just got down-repped on xbox because I was fighting on the elevator in Anor Londo and the guy I was fighting couldn't backstab me I'm still in shock. Seriously, how pathetic is that?

Lol, the reputation system is pretty useless, very few use it for its actual purpose, so don't mind it. Though i just got another uprep today....
Just thought i'd mention that since..yeah.
And what Moogle said, the lvl is not everything, but it plays a pretty big part. At the higher lvls you have the access to a great combination of things, so it plays a big factor in who is the winner.

Heh, just rub salt in the wound
The rep system on xbox is pretty stupid. I usually don't pat it much heed, but that annoyed me lol. I mean giving someone bad rep because you can't backstab them is just about one of the most pathetic things I can think of lol. The convo with him after was even more infuriating. Oh well, I don't have many reviews either way so I'm just waiting for my stars to drop I was at 80% positive though, but not anymore

Re: [Small Spoiler] Level 200 PvP....
The way i see it, i'm awesome because i have 5 stars no matter if my rep is positive or negative, so i don't mind.
*lies*
I've been accused of ''interruptive chatting'' when i've never really spoken in any chat other than a party/private chat which is with my friends, so that's kind of f*cked up really.
As for the pvp, Sens seems full of pvp as i get invaded there a whole lot. Though obviously the duels are low there. Still, if you want some good ol' invading that seems to be the place.

Re: [Small Spoiler] Level 200 PvP....
The stars increase when a whole lot of people has voted from my understanding. Everyone starts out with 0 obviously, and then whether your rep is going down or up, the stars increase. Has idk, 15 people voted you get 5 stars. Then it stays like that no matter what. I'm pretty sure that's the case anyway, because my rep has gone from the top to the bottom and then back to the top again and no matter what it has been at 5 stars.

Re: [Small Spoiler] Level 200 PvP....
I would like to believe that higher levels will have a huge advantage against a lower level players but again this is just from experiance that is not always the case. I seen a guy tear apart a 700 character and come to find out the guy was 110 soul level. LOL. And the 700 level guy he fought was not a bad player at all. The lower guy made all the right adjustments you need to make while in battle while the higher level guy was too arrogant to take the guy as a serious threat. True higher level guys will have a big advantage in battle but that does not always define the outcome of a fight. Same applies for all levels, when your great the level of your opponent does not become a factor, but it will if you are facing a great opponent as well then you will be at a huge disadvantage. It is because of these factors and others that I love this game so much. In any given fight anyone can win...it they are good enough. Just my opin.

Re: [Small Spoiler] Level 200 PvP....
Once you get to a certain level, then higher SL won't be more powerful at all, just more versatile. I consider this level at 120 plus a weapon buff at max Int or Faith. After that, it really doesn't make a huge deal.
Edit: I have a 380 that you will not find a more versatile, or significantly more powerful builds (other than a few points in AR which turns into barely any increase in actual AR).
