So far from what ive seen theres no reason to go raw, the standard upgrade always seams to be better in the end. So what if they left the damage and horrid scaling as it is now, but removed any stat requirement to use the weapon(if upgraded to raw)?

Raw weapons are great for low level runs where you don't have high enough stats to make scaling worth it. On my achievement character I ran through 3/4 of the game with a Raw Halberd +5. It was a beautiful thing.

Note that +15 weapons will out damage RAW weapons.
Easy fix: Make RAW weapons go to +10, problem solved.

I've read raw is great for making bows for a str. build, because for some reason it increases the str. scaling.

That can't be right, unless it treats the two handing bonus different or something. A raw upgraded weapon has a fixed modifier (stat scaling) which is even lower than on an un-upgraded weapon.WandererReece wrote:I've read raw is great for making bows for a str. build, because for some reason it increases the str. scaling.

Just did some digging. Looks like my source was wrong.
