help with a leo ring build

The Leo Ring only boosts the counter-attacks of thrust weapons (to my knowledge) so you will only be landing bonuses with your Estoc (which is in your left hand). Furthermore, counters with thrust weapons already experience a 25% bonus without the ring, and the ring just bumps the bonus up to 50% iirc. So, I don't really see a point in equipping the Leo Ring. If anything, you might want to boost your poise with the Wolf Ring. Or, you could try Havel's Ring to get better armor with better poise included.

If you're going to mid roll at least have 76+ poise, like brother bob said, you'll have to use more Thrust attack based weapons, like spears, on your main hand... You dont need 50 vit using the ring of FaP (37-45 is more than enough), and you should probably consider staying around SL 100 for the upcoming DLC.

I would do something like this

as far as i know, the war pick is a thrust weapon and the greatsword R2 attack and rolling R1 are thrust attacks.
the reason why im making this build is to test the leo ring, mainly because i dont see many people use it.
and going to lvl 100, im not very interested in the arena stuf.

the leo ring adds 40% on top of existing bonuses. so thats 65% more damage... if you do this with the regular halberd the damage is ridiculous. however the ring only function when you hiut opponents mid attack animation....
i may have to try a leo ring, power within, redtearstone build soon... 145% dmg maybe more due to how ar works in this game...

Sorry, guess I was wrong with my numbers.
Also, never bothered with the War Pick so it's interesting to learn that its a thrust weapon (looked more like a pointy axe to me)!

Funny how much ENB's vids affect the community. The Leo Ring is a common topic nowadays.

I don't understand how the Warpick is a thrust weapon, as every attack is swingy, not pokey. I meant to test it after hearing about the Leo Ring's effects on it in a vid, but forgot. I'll try to remember to check it out tonight.

if youre med get 62 poise at least, try thr regular halberd and lucerne(lucerne is pure thrust) i find the pick/warpick both need a lot of poise since theyre reach kinda sucks, the greataword is awesome with those stats and the leo ring.

yes, every COUNTER attack will get the leo ring bonus and yes pure thrust attacks as in all the attacks from it are deal thrust damage.

I tested that on a hollow warrior last week and couldn't get any Leo Ring damage to register, just counter damage. Same with/without the ring. Do you have suggestions on how I should further test it?

test an unupgraded one wit a friend and have attack him while hes standing still and then have him star punching with his bare fist which is the easiest way i find when testing counter hits. you can always do it with a fully upgraded one to see the damage you can do which is about 800 or more when two handed with a 40/40 build.

I get ~900 (!!!) damage with a greatsword's R2 counter + the leo ring, so I am saying the ring is worth the ring slot. Another matter is that it is hard to land those R2 counters or even rolling R1's. Takes time to learn.
