    Titan Ring
    "Ring created by the Titan Urz, who was said to move mountains.
    Urz possessed immeasurable strength and those who wear this ring can feel the power of giants in their veins"
    *Effect: Applies a 2-handing bonus to your Right and Left handed weapons when 1-handing.

    Haden's Ring
    "Created by Haden, legendary knight of Carim, who was reknown by his masterful use of weapons in both of his hands.
    The ring carries a strange power, perhaps Haden's prowess was more the ring's doing than his own skill?"
    *Effect: Increases damage from the Left-Hand weapon by 25%

    Assassin's Ring
    "Belonging to the Assassin's of Sir Astor of Carim. Increase aliment build-up.
    Ironically, the Assassins used poisons to kill Astor's enemies, before using their souls to create a resistance to the same"
    *Effect: Increase build-up of status aliments (to the opponent) by 50%. Applies only to build-up from weapons.

    Iron Mule Ring
    "Belonging to burden bearers of Havel the Rock. Allows quicker movement
    Bishop Havel and his men used the dragon head's as trophies, it was the servant's duty to carry the weight back to Anor Londo"
    *Effect: Moves the movement speed (not rolling speed) 1 weight class lower. (Fat moves as mid, Mid roll moves as fast, fast is unaffected, Overencumbrance moves as fat)

    Guardian's Ring
    "Ring belonging to the maidens of Gwynevere. Saves from death once.
    The frail maidens of Gwynevere were always under the goddess' protection. This ring gives but a fraction of Gwynevere's protection, but the wearer becomes as frail as the maidens that worshiped her and it is just as frail."
    *Effect: Halves HP. The first killing blow would leave you with 1 HP instead. Ring breaks when activated.

    ^Could make more of a use for weapons like the butcher knife, server, and his hammer.

    i have one

    Ring of Unbreakable Will
    "a mysterious ring of unknown origin that allows one to use their willpower to empower one's weapon"
    Empowers a weapon used to block, increasing resistances by 50% of the weapons resistances, but the effect diminishes as life is lost"

    basically allows you to 2 hand a weapon and use it efficiently as a shield, so long as you remain at a respectable amount of health

    another would be

    Ring of Dual Blades
    "a strange ring, likely from Haden, knight of carim. empowers the user, increasing their ability to wield blades in the off-hand"
    Allows the use of a weapon in the off-hand to be used as if wielded in the main hand

    basically, any weapon put into the shield slot, if of a relatively low weight over-all, can be wielded as if it was in the regular weapon slot. would open up many possibilities for builds. reason i say of reasonable weight is cuz we don't need people wandering around dual wielding claymores or zwei's or anything larger. i'd say about 8 weight would be the magic number, allowing for most dex weapons, but not their strength counterparts, which have much more ability to break through ones guard, stun, ETC.

    after that are just rings that would allow for new abilities with certain weapon combo's. stuff like dual wielding fists would cause either a guile type energy attack, or a powerful dual fist attack that hits the solarplexes sorta like an energy-less hadouken.
    same with most swords, using 2 would either cause a flurry of small but fast hits, or 1 giant cross slash. maybe add a small shockwave that reaches about a foot forward to the giant one.

    basically, i have a crapload of ideas for weapons mechanics, and rings were the easiest way to vent lol

    Ring of Incognizance
    "A strange ring belonging to an unknown man long gone hollow who strove to escape his reality. Sometimes memories bring more burden than comfort."
    This strange ring causes its wearer to take on the appearance of an invading phantom, but at the cost of forgetting some of the skills he has learned.
    *Effect: look like a black phantom invader in your world and lower your highest stat by 15 points. Enemies won't aggro unless you are moving at anything faster than a walk.

    Ring crafted by an unknown Darkwraith,probably from Carim by the looks of the ring.
    No one knows his identity as his victims never suspected that a white phantom could lead them to death although many mysterious deaths happened in Carim around a nameless white knight and a young witch known as Yuria.

    Makes your red sign looks like a white sign and allows you this way to appear as a white phantom while being a black one in truth.

    Knight's Magic Ring
    A forgotten hero of Astora once slew a mighty, Abyssal beast with the aid of this ring. Any spell currently equipped may be cast by striking a heavy blow with one's weapon, at the cost of durability.

    Fairy Maiden's Circlet
    This circlet, which looks as though it were made for a child's small doll, fits easily on the human finger. One may then see from the perspective of small beings and more easily avoid attacks.

    (Translation: Increases invincibility frames during a rolling dodge animation.)

    Berenike Knight's Ring
    The Knights Berenike are known for their heavy blows, but such power does not always come from stature alone. Rare heroes amongst their ranks are sometimes entrusted with one of these rings, which allows its wearer to strike surer.

    (Translation: Additional poise damage dealt with all weapons. Possibly something like +10%.)

    Ring of the Sun Princess' Guard: Increases the potency of all miracles related to healing by 20%. The effect is boosted to 40% if you are a female and wearing the Maiden Set. The effect increases to 50% if you are not wielding any weapons in the right hand (using a talisman and wand or pyromancy glove are acceptable).

    Ring of the Skeptic - Found on a corpse in Sens Fortress who went hollow searching for Anor londo. Nullifies damage/effects caused by miracles.

    Genius Ring - Found in the dukes Archive, grants the wearer the wisdom of the elders and increases ones intelligence stat to 50 while the ring is equipped

    wow lots of interesting rings here. that backstab one was especially interesting, i want one of those lol. as for lord god, i think the point was to come up with a balanced ring. that is totally overpowered. static health and 50-ish poise are not at all a bad thing. matter of fact, if a level 1 got it, they'd be horrendously over-powered lol. also, i like that one about no weapon magic, though you'd still need a flame for pyromancy. that would sort of go against the whole "flame is a part of you" theme that has.

    Ring of the Cursed Guardian.

    There once was a forgotten follower of a long forgotten goddess. He had a ghastly appearance. It was said that his job was to prevent the inevitable enslavement of humans, but was later unjustly convicted of treason. His unnatural skill almost saved him from death and his curse was put in this ring. It is the only evidence of his existence.

    Effect: Gain 50 defense, hidden body, and 50% chance of "knockdown recovery". Also gain 100% weakness to toxin, poison, and "become enemies top attack priority". Only works for white / yellow phantoms.

    Knockdown recovery = 50% chance you will be staggered and not knocked down. Only works for 50% and lower equipment burden.

    Attack priority = ring of the accursed in Demon's Souls. This part only works if they see you.

    wow, now that is totally OP. good thing its co-op only though. on the other hand, 50 defense and hidden body? seems a bit contradictory, as well as the knock-back/stagger effect. seems to imply tanking, but allows you to hide? not to mention a basic auto-taunt. honestly, stuff is pretty easy with a phantom already so super buffing the phantom would sorta ruin some of the games experience lol. that said, i totally want one XD

    I think a few people are missing the point of rings in Dark Souls here. A lot of fantasy games use rings as simple buff mechanisms, but in Dark Souls, they often exist to fundamentally alter a character. For instance, Havel's Ring. It's entirely useless if you're not using it go move one speed rate faster, so while its technical function is to give you +50% equipment load, its actual function is to move you into a superior mobility class.

    Another popular ring is the Wolf Ring, and it's neat because you get 40 free poise. Pretty sweet deal. But the big factor here is that it allows you to bypass the armour requirement that usually comes with 40 poise, and remember, that value is close to a full set of knight's gear. So it actually does the same thing as Havel's Ring, in essence -- the extra poise takes the load off your actual armour, allowing you to equip lighter gear and move faster.

    Moving faster isn't just a big deal in terms of positioning -- a fast roll can allow you to use your dodges offensively, immediately coming out of them with a recovery attack. In comparison, mid rolls and fat rolls can only really be used defensively. So both Havel's Ring and the Wolf Ring assist you in maintaining that offensive fast roll, and good use of that roll fundamentally changes how you fight.

    Think about the Hornet Ring and Leo Ring, too. Both encourage a kind of "simultaneous" combat; both rings are most rewarding when used in tandem with your adversary's actions. The Hornet Ring provides a great incentive to parry rather than block, which in turn incentivises defensive, reactive play. This is also true for the Leo Ring, except it encourages simultaneous aggression.

    Many of the rings in the game are very, very cleverly designed to change the way you approach general gameplay, and a lot of the rings in this thread don't really follow that design principle. Remember, rings are about letting you break away from normal limitations by incentivising certain choices of gear, tactics, or both.

    Increases AR by up to 250%, by the following scale.
    100% HP = 250% AR
    95% HP = 220% AR
    85% HP = 175% AR
    60% HP = 140% AR
    50% HP = 100R AR
    40% HP = 70% AR
    30% HP = 50% AR
    20% HP = 20% AR
    10% HP = 0% AR

    When this ring is equiped, your Estus Flask automatically goes to 0 charges, and while equiped you can't uswe Humanity or Divine Blessings.
    While equiped, it can not be unequiped in combat (anything that makes your bonfire go out = in combat)

    Obviously it's optimal to menu-swap this ring off at a particular point, so these rules force you to suffice by the rings rules. Does not effect magic.

    Ring of Death.

    This ring is said to be the embodyment of the curse of the undead. (Has a picture of that weapon Death uses.)

    Effect: 5 second Death Walk. Once the wearer dies he will "live" for 5 seconds. During his Death Walk he will be invulnerable and have a 50% damage bonus.

    The "You Died" screen will not appear till Death Walk is finished. Any phantoms present will remain present till they die or the Death Walk is complete, and applies to host and phantoms.

    When the Death Walk is finished the ring will break and the "You Died" screen will appear. A blood spot will be left where the wearer died.

    This ring would be a rare pickup that is found in only one location per playthrough.

    "Ring worn by a warrior of a distant plane. A knight of sorts was once known to walk these lands, he wielded a legendary hammer with the grace of a dagger, but no being but him could bare its weight."

    Effects: AR for all hammer weapons +40 %, 2-hand special attack for all hammers (an attack like chaos firestorm, but with lightning), Baldur armor gets cape back :3

    I like the creativity you all have. Anyways, I've decided, for more motivation, to post another "example":

    Berenike Ring
    "Ring worn by the Knights of Berenike. Increases the power of your defenses during attacks.
    The knights of Berenike wore heavy armor to protect against incoming attacks, raising their confidence to swing their weapons at full blow. The crushing blows they dealt had left dust where their enemies once stood"

    Increases all defenses by 20% during attack animations. Also, poise is increased by 30 when attacking.
