I think I found a way to keep Rhea alive throughout the entire game

Post by Akatik on Sun Feb 12, 2012 12:45 pm

Here's what happened in my game.

The Tomb of the Giants was my second to last place to get the lord soul. I did the tomb, saved Rhea and went back and bought all of the miracles from her. Then, I did Duke's and beat Seath. I then went back to the Parish to find her dead body because I left Petrus alive. However, she wasn't dead and was still at the altar. So, then I filled the lord vessel and entered the Kiln. And when I came back to firelink, I killed Petrus thinking that he must've killed her by now.

Now, when I got back to the Altar, she is still there praying. Did I somehow find a way to keep her alive throughout the whole game?

The way I see it, Petrus won't kill her because he's dead and she shouldn't be abducted because Seath is also dead. If nothing happened to her yet, nothing else would by the time I kill Gywn.

She'll stay alive as long as you don't buy up all her spells. After Tomb of the Giants if you visit two areas before going to the parish Petrus will murderize her. So once you halt that from happening you can just avoid buying all her spells and she'll sit there in the parish until doomsday (from what I've seen anyway).

i don't think so. So, if I buy the blessing from her, her storyline will continue? I'd like to get my hands on the pendant.

    For all it's worth.

yeah buy the divine blessing. then she'll disappear. then she'll re-spawn hollowed in the jail cell.

i forget if she drops the pendant after petrus kills her in the church or after you beat her in hollowed form BUT...im like 90% sure you get it when Petrus kills her. In the jail cell she only drops humanity (i think) and the ivory talisman.

Maybe I should just live up to my black paladin persona and off her myself after I buy the divine blessing.

Hum, here is my situation about Rhea :

I did not accept Petrus offer to join his covenant, so dialog could not get further. I did not see Rhea in the Shrine. I went to the catacombs (not Tomb of Giants) and killed Patches where he was standing near the waterfall then proceeded for my playthrough.

Now Kiln is open and I still did not talk to Petrus and did not see Rhea. She is not in the Tomb, not in the Parish, not in the Archives. Does anyone know where she is ?

Make sure you are not in the Way of the White before you KEEL her until she dies from it!

Don't think Rhea spawns until you talk to Petrus to the point you can buy spells.

Ok, so I did talk to Petrus to the point I can buy spells. Left the area and came back. Petrus is gone, Rhea is still nowhere to be found...

hmm, well if you really want to find her. I'd check tomb of the giants, or the church, or the jail cell. It's weird that Petrus is gone. But if he is, I'd say Reah is in the Tomb of the Giants. Or...no where at all and you've unlocked something totally new.

It's not about Petrus, that usually happens because you didn't kill the Capra Demon and/or the Gaping Dragon before ringing the 2nd bell. Go kill them and then come to firelink where Petrus is, reload until she and her bodyguards appear. That's what I did. Don't attack Petrus because if you do Reah will be hostile.

If you already killed those bosses then I can't help you.

Well, it is true I did not kill Gaping Dragon. So i'll just do that.

I also killed Patches while he was in the catacombs. So what will happen to Rhea when she'll try to get down there ?

I killed Petrus before Rhea and her bodyguards are at firelink
Now she is hostile even after visiting Oswald
Cleared the whole game to the Kiln and she is still hostile and at firelink
Thus she never left firelink because Petrus was dead

Well, here come the conclusion of my story :

I did kill Patches when I first saw him early game (bells not rung) in the catacombs. Then proceeded through the game, unlocked Kiln, finally got Petrus to tell me Rhea went down the catacomb and he was scared for her. Found Rhea in the tomb, she is still in the pit as if Patches had pushed her... which he did not. Coherence ?
