FOUND! Painted World of Ariamis in Van Helsing Film (2004)

So after some good Dark Souls play I decided to chill out a bit and see what was on the movie channels. I notice that they are giving Van Helsing. Near the end of the movie, Van Helsing and company open the portal to Dracula's Domain... I jumped from my couch and yelled "OMG, Dracula Lives in the Painted World of Ariamis." Then I continued making Dark Souls connections.

1. Igor: King Jeremiah or Knight before Priscilla as he defends the bridge
2. Dracula's Wives: Harpies
3. Dracula's Helpers: Infected Undead
4. Van Helsing (host)
5. Van Helsing's Party: Jolly Cooperation
6. Werewolf Vaccine: Red Soap Stone
7. Dracula: World Boss, in this case Priscilla. Both share life hunt lol. Only that Priscilla is so cute.
8. Portal to Dracula's Domain: Ariamis' Painting
9. Missing Peace of Transylvania Map: Peculiar Doll

Good thing there were no Wheel Skeletons in the movie. Van Helsing would have just said "screw this BS"

I see a lot of this. I was watching Tale of Despereaux with my daughter and half the film seemed lifted from DkS (or vice versa). The knights, the dungeons and sewers, even a big library that looks like the duke's archives. Probably been playing too much, heh.

You know you may actually have something there, I felt a Dracula reference in the painted world when I saw all those impaled corpses on high poles (near where Jerimiah invades), because the 'real' Dracula, AKA Vlad the Impaler, really enjoyed having people impaled like that.

oddly enough I was in Auckland a few months ago and bought Van Helsing and knew Dracula's Castle looked familiar though I couldnt put my finger on it....
