Personally, if you're fat rolling, my personal recommendation is to use the BK Shield. Reason is that the one thing that will REALLY cause you problem is Great Combustion and your best counter is an effective shield against it.

Next, your poise should at the very least hit 77 (You have a lot of weight for that), 107 is another good point for tanking a variety of hits and 124 would let you trade as many blows as possible with anything below a greatsword, practically; however, impossible unless you use Wolf Ring. So 107 should be your main point.

Also, make sure your defense is high (it is very likely you'll have it high if you have the poise, however), you'll be trading blows a lot and the main form of damage you'll be doing will VERY likely be in trading blows.

Guys, the char is now on 70's and it's running fine till now... but...

    -> Back Stabbers <-

    aawrrrr how I hate'em! >_<

I'm trying to counter with claymore swings, but still BSers sux if you are fatty sad

And about the Str:50 I haven't decided yet if it's good enough to drop some of Vit and End points... sad

With Str:36, ok, I won't have Havel's Shield... But I have access to GsoA. Is it worthy to put all the way to 50's just because of the shield? =/

This is exactly my char now: http://tinyurl.com/8hawy5s

Don't know if I go for:
    1) http://tinyurl.com/9lsypgy
    2) http://tinyurl.com/9p4qmmp
    3) http://tinyurl.com/93woh5b

Please, let me know which one you prefer and why :3

When I used to roll a Fai Claymore and Gods build, backstabbers wasn't a big deal...

After being backstabbed again and again with my fatty, man, I really questioned the Havel's Shield... More Vit could gave me some time to answer and the more End the more swings from a (U)GS to avoid being zerged silly

Well, till now, thank you all by the posts guys!

Long time no see, eh? How you doing, friends!~

I finished the char, level 100 and there we go: http://tinyurl.com/8hqfnj9

Sometimes I fast-switch the BK Shield to GsoA, and the BKH for BKGA or even a Clay+15. Sometimes I use Mask of the Mother... It's a very cool build to play around and so far it proved to be very competitive at the Kiln of the First Flame.

But then... Casters. And its fast rolls. And its Dark Beads + Power Within spammers, CSM farmers which doesn't even wait you to bow, and the worst ones: Pursuers.

Man, wtf!? I've tried Ring of Fog, and no way!! As a fat roller, you have almost no chance against it!

So, I'm bumping the thread once again and asking you guys: what could a fat roll can against these threats?

Again, any suggestion about the equips? happy

Can you block the spell? Try menu swapping Crest Shield.

Looks like it is not a true roll play anymore so I will offer some minor armor/stat changes

You have 85 poise and 1663 HP both are good. BUT you are mid rolling...

    SL 100 Warrior

76 poise (All anyone really needs at the most), 1325 HP (338 net loss), and FAST roll

The tempest is removed, I kept power within although I would remove that too. If I saw a mid roller cast power within I would literally strafe around watching them slowly die.

The biggest change is the buckler. I am not a fan of purposely taking hits on the shield as it offers you no advantage while giving them every advantage. That is what the BK shield appeared like it was there for. Buckler = Parry

IMO fast movement is WELL WORTH the loss of 300 HP. Defense is still decent and your AR on the BKH is still over 500 two handed.

To answer your question of "is fat roll viable in pvp." My answer is yes, just not as viable as fast roll.

umm regarding the pc spells... about the only way fat rollers can nullify them are great magic barrier, vow of silence and blocking with havels shield... that or to keep a quick ranged option on hand to stop them mid cast, the golem axe would work for that as its one handed strong attack is ranged and will stun practically anything, plus to cast pursuers they have to stand still for a second or two... as for dark bead... its at its strongest at close range other wise the individual orbs are weak so maybe more ranged harrasment as their only other ranged options will be normal style sorcery which you can actually fat roll away from... im not on pc so i'll be working on strategies when the dlc comes out...

Here's my mid rolling STR build for the ARENA(still waiting on console DLC). This is just some of the set ups i use.

    Pre DLC http://tinyurl.com/9g8onv6
    DLC http://tinyurl.com/8fdmoq9 & http://tinyurl.com/8zwoy7r

Maybe one you might like: http://tinyurl.com/9d24pxx
Basically i suggest you go mid roll.

EDIT: LOL, i actually really like the suggestion i gave you now that i look at it more. I might make that build.

twisted I don't know why i didn't think of this build, i'm running out of slots for builds sad http://tinyurl.com/8z7k6h9 I made it 20 dex so i can use goughs bow. I also can use any BK weapon and still mid roll with 76 poise, just have to arrange armor differently. This might end up being one of my favorite builds.

That is my one issue with no bb glitch, i wish they at least made more slots available for builds. I don't want to have to choose between builds just because i want to make a new one. I guess it is still better then Demon's Souls.
