@Jan: At 40/40 the WP is the hardest-hitting katana behind the Chaos Blade. Its reach is disproportional to its speed and power; there's a reason fast weapons aren't generally really long balance-wise. The PGS has some of the highest DPS in the game, but it's incredibly short to compensate. The WP isn't necessarily the best weapon period, but it's one of the best vehicles for buffing in the game because of how easy it is to hit the opponent with it.

I actually find the WP to be one of the best counters to a spear. If they turtle you can build up bleed without getting too close, you have a poke that stands among the longest attacks in the game, and if you're aggressive against a 2h user you have a very nice roll attack that has great horizontal range and dead angles.

GMB is really fun. And maybe we'll see other tools as well. Anything to keep the buff off you for awhile; things like WoG and Force.
Plus, I don't think there's going to be any 'pre buffs' in the arena; when you drop in, it's on. Like Donkey Kong. So buff users may eat arrows to the face (interrupting their buff if it's a headshot I believe).

No one is gonna play level 200 builds period. At least not as many as 120 PvP was/is. In PC the hotspot is 100. 200 takes too long to get to. Specially now that the BB glitch has been removed. I like that way too. At level 100, builds can be creative, you have to sacrifice in order to achieve things. My 99 INT build capped at 100 will very fun to use (almost no health lol). Glass Cannon basically, but without the cannon.

This isn't PC though Chiz, and a lot of people have SL120s or higher that a lot of people might end up turning into SL 200s.

It's the same. People will create new characters, that's the flavor of Dark Souls PvP, try new things. Most of them won't finish their builds or will stop at 100.

I am certain there will be a decent amount of people at sl200, especially the try hard types who wont want to give up their god builds. There is a lot of people who just can't win without 1800hp+,3stacks of wrath, fast roll, and hornets or some other overpowered thing. At SL100, that will be much more difficult to pull off. Plus remember that you can be SL200 and just host, and still fight the SL100s. Lots of people just host, which is kind of lame in my opinion.

You're lame Try invading and see how hard it can be, hosting is the easy choice. Not that i don't do it, but i like to invade too. Or put my red sign down.

I do invade, i'm a forest hunter.
But i never -invade- outside the forest because i'm not interested in dueling. I play hide and seek, or have fist fights, or otherwise, i'm a fool.

There are so many people who are going to make SL200 builds before the dlc hits so they can use the glitches while they still can.
Or the people with SL120s who have 10 million upon millions saved up and will turn that into a SL200 so they can make a new SL100.
Or the people just just keep their SL120s, they will be fighting SL200s in arena, so you will get plenty of action at SL200
invading might be tougher on a SL200 (but probably not since PS3 has alot of super high level players from the original Dragon head glitch days), but even if it is hard to invade as SL200 that is why i will also have 3 different SL100 builds and a SL120 build.

All I need on my 265 are 9 more points into End. and I can fast roll as Ornstein while using the DSS and Leo Ring, that's where the high-level fun comes in. And high-level builds make brutal Artorias cosplays. Hell, at that level I can cosplay all the four Knights, rings included.

Im not touching the 101- 200 bracket for the soul reason (pun intended...shame on me shame on me but I had to do it...) because I personally , and I may be proven wrong, believe that the worst of the worst of all the builds will congregate there....
okay now I could understand your hesitation, you indignation, and your counter arguments sure...I dont care Im not changing my opinion (I normally go into arguments expecting to be proved wrong) but in this case I dont care.
I personally feel in DkS when characters reach SL 120+ they become too pwerful or too capable of things... and thus overly tacky. Its not that players get anybetter its that the toons are toon capable of dishing out damage and without gouging not capable of taking it.
Thus I will be limiting myself to pvp below Sl 100 where I percieve toons to have to be crafted vs levels put into various stats with no penalties.

i must say on PS3 i was seeing far more summon signs at SL200 then i usually see a SL100 in areas i never would expect to see signs.
though that was only tonight for a 1 hour time period so could just be a 1 time thing, but PS3 will have alot of SL200s i am sure of it

I just dont see SL 120+ as appealing. You are already a master of your chosen skills at120...going over that just makes you better at what you already do, though marginally so, or you have more versatility...which just doesnt appeal.

i agree completely which is why my SL200 build uses a weapon that requires 3 stat scaling lol, so in reality he does the same damage and has the same armor/life as my SL100 just uses a spear instead of katana.
though after doing pvp on it i find the DSS is to powerful for my liking, i dont possibly see how it can lose

It can't, the weapon is a stat-trifecta. IMO it is a jack of all trades.Glutebrah wrote:ViralEnsign_ wrote:I just dont see SL 120+ as appealing. the difference in reach between the washing pole and uchi in game is almost imperceptible. falchion, rapier and even the pike are better options for darkmoon blading.Ghadis_God wrote:This build http://tinyurl.com/9vyu73k is the reason why I won't be fighting in the 101-150 SL bracket in the DLC arena. Everyone and their mother will be rolling this tryhard build and I predict that all we'll be doing is fighting against buffed Washing poles. This is why I'm not making a build above SL100 from now on. I was hesitant to say it at first, but 120 is dead if all that'll happen in the arena is fights against these types of people
the reason 100 is a poorer option than 120 is the exact same reason 120 was always a poorer option than 150: the only difference is less levels to put into vitality so everyone dies one hit sooner.
the reasons i will be fighting in the SL100 arena: trolling the mutual commiseration society for being so hung up on the number 120.
SL100 flipping giant mom 1678 hp (yes they're knight gauntlets shhh don't tell anyone) http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=4457008696692867
SL100 hornet ring lingering dragoncrest power within chaos rapier 56 poise for that sweet one-shot poise bs on your two hand greatsword http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=2721301566055717
SL100 mid-roll lingering dragoncrest power within darkmoon blade falchion http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=2333664241542747
on my legit SL200+ toon i won't even fish a bs unless the other guy does first but the SL100 arena for me is going to be all about trolling people like the topic creator to show them just how backwards they have it in terms of what level range is best suited to legit pvp. nowhere is safe and the lower your vit the easier you are to kill.

All I can say is come at me bro
Don't assume you'll win because you can roll annoying builds and use annoying tactics at SL100. I'll see you in the arena.
