How to deal with the lagg? Empty How to deal with the lagg?

Post by DrachShyish Sun Sep 30, 2012 3:31 pm

Have been doing pvp alot over the last few weeks after getting back into the game after a considerable absence. One thing which annoys me more than the many "cheap" pvp-ers is the lagg. Now why some people use cheap tricks etc to win is beyond me, after a certain point there is not anything to gain by just curbstomping people after all, I'd rather win by skill.

I know some people evidently has learned how to deal with it, considering the many backstabs inflicted on me and the relatively few I tend to land.
Now I play on X-Box Live, which is probably utterly beside the point lagg-wise, and have a very good connection...

But what I really would like to know is how everyone else have adjusted to everything not being where they appear to be.

Prediction. If I see a guy starting to strafe around me right as I swing my ultra GS, I just unlock and pivot towards them. I find someone can backstab you easier if you are locked onto them, but this is not always the case.

Plus you have got to cover what seems to be the back 180 degrees of your character, which is a difficult task in itself.

If they strafe around you headed for your shoulder, you can flip to a few steps in advance of where they'll be and nail tham with a GC before they nail you. Doesn't always make them quit though, but it's a free hit for you. Sometimes they'll lag bs through your GC, even. You could also try counter-BSing (look up EWGF's video on it on youtube).

Backstab attempts are usually easy to see coming, unless it's a Japanese player- those guys have some weird, unique breed of lag.

It happens. Sometimes it's bad, sometimes your lagging terribly and can't tell. Just get used to it and try and guage how the lag is effecting you in that match. It's not to hard, just another part of the game to get used to imo.
