Me: Wandering through the game in human form.

Message: Invaded by spirit of vengeance "xxx"

Me: Equips talisman and GMB.

Darkmoon: Equips a katana and casts DMB.

Me: Casts GMB, and switches talisman out for a weapon.

Darkmoon: Runs at me swinging R1 like a drunk brawler.

Me: Backstab during the darkmoon's misguided R1 combo.

Darkmoon: WoG, WoG, WoG, WoG, WoG, WoG.

Me: Rolls out and backstabs after last WoG (even if I get hit, I've got GMB). Upon wakeup, poke, poke, poke. DM dies. I get some ridiculous amount of souls (DM is SL200+).

Darkmoon: Hatemail, hatemail, hatemail. Stop using GMB... blah, blah... stop backstabbing... blah, blah.

Me: Stop being predictable.

Repeat story about 100 times.

Moral of the story: Darkmoons, I know you're going to use a katana, cast DMB, and cast WoG. Please, please, please, don't expect me to pretend that this is a surprise and let you kill me instead of taking obvious countermeasures.

I know, I know. But I promise you that I've run into this exact setup about 90% of the time I'm invaded by a DM. I don't always get hatemail (maybe 10% of the time I get hatemail), so I was indulging in a little literary license there. I also don't always cast GMB (sometimes I just let DMB expire). But DMB plus some form of katana and WoG is almost guaranteed. I'm not calling players who use this combo cheap. On the contrary, there is absolutely nothing cheap about it. But I am saying that people who use this combo are opening themselves up to very basic counter-strategies. If you're not someone who uses this exact strategy with your DM, rock on!

True GMB should be the 1st thing you reach for when a dm invades, and if dmb & wog is all they have then sucks to be them.

I'm a Darkmoon.
I use a Demon's great machete and an Artorias great sword when the DMB expire or xhen I need more speed.
I don't spam wog because actually... I can't, I only have 1 slot for WOG, I could take 2 but I don't see the point, I use it to escape a BS or when I want to hit that *** turtle through his shield or when I want to stun someone and sometimes just as a deterent weapon.

My Darkmoon uses Ornstiens armor, artoria's greatsword and the bloodshield. I use Emit force and vow of silence. Then great fireball and great combustion. I don't even use darkmoon blade hahahaha.
