How many damn times/how quick do I have to hit the opponent so that the bleed takes effect?! Jezuz!

That^ is one of the problems with using it. In PvP you're mainly only going to get it to work against:
    a. gankers,
    b. dragons,
    c. naked people
And then only if they don't know how to roll out of it. It can be pretty successful in the forest in making people panic but the last time I played even the gankers were pretty decent at avoiding it with one strategy or another.

PvE on the other hand? Wonderful for:
    a. Stray/Asylum/Firesage Demon,
    b. Farming Souvenirs of Reprisal (Harpies die very quickly to the bleed,
    c. Miscellaneous fun times

Sif is tough because she takes a good amount of hits quickly and once she jumps away (which is often) you have to start all over again. The R1 is the only way and even that's tough because she jumps around so much. Your best bet is always an enemy that stands and fights. The Stray and lookalike demons move a good deal but they can bleed in two swipes which is easy to get in. Harpies in NG+ with a +5 scythe and 40 dex die in two hits. You can draw four from the first rooftop (two across the courtyard via an arrow will come at you bro). I needed eight souvenirs to get my DMB rewards and I got all I needed and more in less than twenty minutes. They die so fast that way they never get an attack off. Some other likely candidates died too fast for me to recommend it conclusively (I did my Lifehunt full game in NG+ with my 40 dex so a lot of things died quickly). Capra and Taurus probably bled but the fight was over too quick to judge. Nito and Seath I can definitely say are not worth attempting big grin Four Kings is also a bad idea, you can get a lot of hits in but you bleed and they don't. Most other bosses and big baddies I couldn't give a definitive read on because either they or I move around too much.

What rant said, it is so easy to roll dodge bleed(especially with the slower bleed weapons). Also the lifehunt is a bad choice if you are fighting somewith a bleed weapon(katana) which is very common. Especially if your opponent has a chaos blade. Its slightly shorter range,on top of self bleed, and being unable to be buffed makes the great scythe a much better choice in my opinion. Although the lifehunt does do more physical dmg, and has that chance of massive bleed damage.

If you wanted to bleed someone out, i would say R2 combos are the best way to do it. The scythes R2 attack is not to be underestimated, it is one of its best attacks. Easy to combo and stagger opponents with it.

The Lifehunt Scythe is great against the Stray Demon in the Asylum and the Demon Firesage BUT, be warned, watch your own bleed counter & be ready with the Red Moss. I didn't and lost a slab because I died at the exact same time as the Stray Demon. Bleed with Lifehunt Scythe 1330857165

Best ways to bleed an experienced player:

    1) Bleed on Riposte or Backstab (Hard to pull off)
    2) Tranquil Walk of Peace
    3) Bleed on Successful Hit (Practically an instant-win)

    Only TWoP is reliable...

I loved the lifehunt scythe for a while, but it's bleed is never worth it. I just use a GC +15 (even though I never get on dex accounts anymore =\ ). People rarely bleed for me, and it's lower initial damage than the GC

Well see.. My problem is I LOVE the scythe.. I have a full gold hemmed set, lifehunt scythe +3 i believe, and a blooshield +10. My resistances are through the roof. So i never really get selfbled.

Two rapid hits at naked people is instant kill with that weapon.
