so I have encountered a small dodging issues with some choice katanas, mainly ones that have the over head slice power attack, I will dodge 3x the length of the blade and it still hits me, is it better to dodge sideways?

Sideways but I would block instead since the stability they drain is minimal and those phantom hits are so *** annoying.
