I remember reading that she has a firekeeper soul, but I'm not sure if there's some repercussion for being unable to join one of the covenants further on in the game. Some people have said not to do it, but that bonfire doesn't seem that important... thoughts?

I never Darkmoon so I don't know for certain, but killing her might - I repeat, MIGHT - piss off Gwyndolin.

Then I don't know what you'd lose by killing her. The bonfire and sin?
Up to you.
Up to you.

Ya, unless you want to join the Darkmoon covenant, then don't kill her but other then that there really isn't any reprecussion besides being able to use that one bonfire but that's not that much of a big deal either really when you can teleport to Gywnevere's bonfire.

You can Kill Gwynevere (the ilusion) and the Firekeeper of Anor Londo and still be able to join the Darkmoon (I did it on my first playthrough). However, you killed Gwyndolin, so, go on... Kill her with fire!
The only thing you will miss is the +10 Estus Bonfire. However, you can always use the one in Darkmoon Chamber, or the one in the Princess Chamber or the one in the Room to the Right of the Main Church (I think Anor Londo is the place with most bonfires in the games, one less will not make much diference). And when you go to Duke's Archive you will not need it since there's a Bonfire just in the begining of the Archive.
