Who's learning to rock 0 poise with Str weapons?

So, with the DLC coming out, I've decided to go anti-beiber, and use alternate rings. My Mura is heavy and requires 28 str. That doesn't leave much room for endurance and heavy armor.

Currently, I'm sporting a pyro Mura (leaving even lass room for endurance). I've got FaP equipped and rapid swap between a few different rings. But, that means I have to drop my Wolf's on occasion to boost my pyro or don the RSTR.

It is a big sdjustment going from 54 to 40 to 0 poise.

I've decided to start going 0 poise with my dragonoids. But i'll be using the DWGR (even if i would be able to fast roll).
So i'll be relying on the i-frames a lot

I've got good 100 and 120 mura builds. I've got to learn different timings and get used to toggling out ASAP.

It depends on the weapon. For example a Club doesn't need much poise cause it's always spamming roll attacks, but a mura might need poise for winning r1 spammage and to don't get interrupted while doing the R2 combo.

the myra is not a str weapon. It requires a lot of str, but it only scales well with dex.

True. The Str attribute I am referring to is the slow startup swing. Where you can easily be interrupted before the swing hits.

It's a semi Str weapon if upgraded to elemental. 28 Str is too high lol.

I think you'll have a rough time R1ing people to death, unless you've got an alternate weapon or use a lot of dash attacks.

I can often get about 3 hits in before people toggle out of it.

When I started in the forest I flipped in full BI with a MSGS. Then after I got good I started using fast roll with 0 poise and the MSGS. While I was playing regularily I got pretty good at it. But its a real different type of fighting. I've fought people who I could've normally beat easily that have instead been a challenge where I've had to be really careful about attacking.

Bigass Club is the only STR weapon I use with no poise. With Mura, specifically Pyro Mura (45dex) your END is barely surviving as it is. I often just wear Dusk Crown, Knight Gauntlets, Hallow Soldier Waitcloth. It's a really light set up and gives 13 poise Wolf's pushing it to the 53 break.

I don't think the mura can handle literally ZERO poise often, unless you rely almost totally on Pyro and Running attacks to keep them pressured. Any R1 is just too likely to get interupted, and even if you toggle escape you didn't get to hit them.

Actually I think fundamentally this is why Str weapons feel so handicapped at times. Toggles are great for getting out of stunlocks, but you can't HIT someone by toggling like you can by poise tanking.

I've done Mura at 0 poise. Running R1 and well-timed R1 are staples (especially running R1). And, the R2-R2 combo is really nice. A lot of people won't take the chance of poking you out of a R2 (if it hits them, it'll hurt). Then, they will try to attack after, but don't expect the other R2 to hit. And, the pyro can keep them off balance and their distance (allowing you to start up an attack).

But, I'll often rapid swap rings as well. Going from wolf to BDCR to RTSR.

i have been trying no poise or 40 poise(wr) but no poise REALLY sucks if youre using a str weapons and your opponent has a piece of kirk's armor other than that its not too bad if you know how to read your opponent.

Ugh. As soon as they realize they can roll stun you they keep it coming. Pretty sure Iron Bracelets give enough poise to tank it.

I can get 54 poise with practically no weight on my Heracles Great Club build (with Wolf Ring), it sacrifices defense though. Poise is much more important imo, trading hits is important for a Str build, as no one in real life would use a huge hammer or axe with no armor, it's nearly impossible to fight like that.

why are you thinking of going 0 poise? Did they add hyper armor to strength weapons or something?
I run the Hollow Soldiers Waistcloth on my 0 poise builds, as 7 poise doesn't stop anything but a 1 handed dagger and kirks armor.

I always go with either 0 or 40 poise, since i can't fir any armor on the dragon body.
0 poise is a lot easier with dex weapons though.

Reading threads like this.. makes me want to kill all of you . Where are you guys while i'm fighting all these Japs and housewives (or spell spammers and r1 dex wep spammons on PTD) . Somebody needs to fight me, the lack of good fights is hidering my ability to hold my own against players even only at my level, let alone better than me .
