    First time Gravelorded (PC) !!!

Post by RCPD_STARS on Fri Sep 21, 2012 10:28 pm

I was so excited when I saw a gravelord symbol in oolacile township. I have never, ever seen one during the course of 1000 hourse of ps3 dark souls.

I invaded the gravelord 4 times total. He had a red phantom with him each time, and they tried to gank me. I proceeded to whip those fools like practice dummies. Each time the red phantom or two would drop, but the host would pop divine blessings over and over and chain bs me like a real freaking pro. I tried rolling into him, not moving, not getting backstabbed to begin with, etc. The host had my number big time. i only lived as long as i did because the red phantoms were quite bad.

Regardless, I was happy to see the gravelord mechanic work for the first time. It only took.... 1,120 hours of gameplay too! (counting ps3+pc )

I have a few questions though:

1 Why was I a blue phantom invading (while hollow) and the others red?

2 How does one acquire a seemingly infinite supply of divine blessings????

    1. Because you're are an dark spirit though you're blue. It's good, it means that the signed worked correctly, it's the way the host (gravelord) knows you're an invader that touched his sign and not a random invader who invaded by other means.

    2. He summoned one red phantom that used the Red SoapStone and the other is an standard invader.

Where did that happen? I've been thinking of gravelording Tomb of Giants for fun. I found a good place to hide so I would just gravelord, hide, and go to play my PS3 another game.

I've seen several so far on the PC, one in which i encountered in the burg while i was gravelording, i could see his sign(My world was infected, but no phantoms) and i couldn't invade his world, but he was able to invade mine as a SoV.

It's a very rare sight to see and i really wished it was around more!

Sad thing about gravelording is the wait... it's just plain boring to sit there and wait for someone to invade. And completing the area it's not an option because your sign moves with you all the time, it would make very hard for people to invade you.

Also how it's possible to gravelord oolacile township? Because I'm pretty sure you would get invaded in no time by random people (darkwraiths), because PvP is pretty active there.

There's quite a few places you can snug yourself into along the main path down to the lower levels, but would be noticeable as you walk by, I've done it a few times, and let me tell you infected Oolacile is nasty!

Hey guys. Last night I PVP'd for the first time.I ended up whittling away 6 hours having a blast.. Anyway one of the most fun fights I had was against a Gravelord. It was the best fight out of them all. Unfortunately I don't recall seeing a sign but maybe I'm too new to really understand the full mechanics.

My thoughts were [Ah... pvp.. not sure if it will work. I'll give it a try... ] *Eventually the sun is coming up and people are starting to wake up in the house*

I swear I wish I had figured it out sooner. I'm considering giving the grave covenant a try. She put up the best fight I had the whole time. Eventually I great combusted her when she rolled at a bad time.

[I tried to keep it on topic, it was just a lot of fun for my first time. No cheaters either after 30+ matches 1/3 anor londo 2/3 in the church w/ gargoyle bell]

Number 2 is not correct. Once you activate the eye of death, you can't see
other summon signs anymore. You get 3 open invasion slots when you
gravelord, so any combination of red and blue wraiths can invade. This
guy had 2 friends invade him after he'd activated the eye of death to
effectively gank, because at most 1 more darkwraith or spirit of
    vengeance could invade.

You're right about number 2, I forgot about that signs disappear when gravelording, but still, you can't be invaded by 2 darkwraiths at the same time. So, how the hell did that happen?

I believe it's because Gravelord signs, like Dragon signs are unique. Gravelord opens up 3 invasion slots so you can be invaded by any combination of red and blue wraiths to a max of 3. Dragon closes the session so it's a 1 v 1 duel.
