Re: Are you excited about Dishonored?
It doesn't really seem to have that many problems with it, but I can't say I really know what would be wrong with a game since I'm not much of a reviewer. I'll probably just leave it up to Angry Joe or some reviewer from the internet that knows what they're talking about.

I'm a PC gamer.Spurgun wrote:WhatDoesThePendantDo? wrote:I heard it was mad short, like it can be beat in 8 hours.
That's a shame it looks really good.
So can all of the elders scrolls games.
But no one claims that they're short.Moonlight Knight wrote:Since it's made by Bethesda no, it'll be broken at launch as always.
That's true if you're playing on console. But on PC it's a different story.
I'm sure that they'll patch the game anyway.

And this isn't even including all the broken quest chains that I had to put up with at launch.

I'm on PS3 and for now,I've found no glitch...
Plus by putting an incredible number of quests in Skyrim, the probability of a glitch is multiplied...

Re: Are you excited about Dishonored?
I actually have a question about the game. Is the game like all the elder scrolls an open world game aka sandbox or is it a level after level kind of game?

Re: Are you excited about Dishonored?
It's not a sandbox.
The game is divided in 12 chapters I believe.
Still it's a very open world game.

Just saw the trailer and it looks like Bioshock-Deus Ex. Deus Ex used a third person view for its stealthiness and in this one it looks like it's all first person.

It's all first person, but so far that hasn't taken away from the stealth gameplay.

Re: Are you excited about Dishonored?
Immeadiately looking at this game I was dissapointed....here to hoping that the gameplay more than makes up for the poor aesthetics.......
Also I the level interface looks like it came from the original GameCube version of Call of Duty....
What happened to the epicly detailed cutscenes I saw in the trailer?!

Re: Are you excited about Dishonored?
^Too bad you don't like it :/
I played 5 hours so far and I'm still at the 2nd chapter out of 12,exploring anything, discovering the lore.
The difference with Deux Ex:Human revolution is that using lethal is a viable option here where in Deus Ex,you HAD to be non lethal for the xp and the missions.

Re: Are you excited about Dishonored?
Yeah Deus Ex was terribly broken for the lethal part. Super cool ways to kill the guys for only little experience? Too bad you got disappointed Viral. I really don't like first person melee combat (Skyrim  ). Only first person games I like are the shooters. Looking forward to Bioshock Infinite though, seems epic.

Re: Are you excited about Dishonored?
I like both,Skyrim was a great game(Until my Xbox went dead and I tried the PS3,without regrets).
But you just can't compare Skyrim with Dishonored, way too different.
Same with CoD and Dishonored,CoD looks awesome I agree but Dishonored is focused on lore, stealth and action.
For me,Arx Fatalis looks ok(Until I found out I couldn't run it for 30 minutes before a crash) even though it was released on 2000!And oh god Neverwinter Nights(1&2) were so beautiful.(On lowest settings,I hate my computer Q_Q)
Also I dunno what you dont like about the gameplay, did you meet the Outsider?
Honestly the gameplay is really rich, richer for the lethal play though but even with a Clean Hand play through, which I'm trying right now,you still have a lot of options. You can possess your way, sneak around with blink and double-jump,use your cross-bow to make the guards sleep and hide them from the rats,or stop time and run like a baws or just run like a baws and pray they miss you.
Soon I'll get Bioshock 2 so I can wait for Bioshock infinite,it looks like they put a hell of an effort to make it awesome!

Running through the game like a baws seems like a fun challenge lol. but I know I'll be doing a "Clean house" playthrough (gedit?) if possible.

Re: Are you excited about Dishonored?
I like it now I just think its all in the exposition. PLaying through it once kind threw me for a loop but now after another try at it I can explore the stylisic features and to me it feels like a Bethesda version of Rage.
Its good but im dissapointed they didnt put in the awesome trailer style cutscenes when the easily could have

Re: Are you excited about Dishonored?
Yeah Ive only done the first mission... seems to me all the non lethal ways lead to such ironic endings for the characters....though some people I just want DEAD!

- Spoiler:
- marking with a nice scar the face of a pedophile who loves to party hard, still awesome.
Still it's really creepy when he says on an audio report that he "tested" the stuff, which is the daughter of The Empress who is less than 11 years old...

Thats not what they mean vatar as far as I know.
He refers to the place where they keep her. Now think of it like that.

Re: Are you excited about Dishonored?
- Spoiler:
- The merchandise woudl refer the the whores at the Golden Cat, which in the case of a brothel would be merchandise, vs the heir to the empress position.
In anycase im sure the Spymaster wouldnt want to hurt her in anyway if he were to use her as a figure head while he pulled the string. Also im sure that if Campbell did that then the Spymaster would have him killed immeadiately for *** up his plans!

Judging from the gameplay footage i watched i say its too easy .
I really hate it when your Character is Overpowered . But i really like the setting though...maybe i buy it when its a bit cheaper

Re: Are you excited about Dishonored?
There are greater levels of difficulty if you need that.
Finished the first 2 missions with ghost and non lethal. Had to reload due to a couple of mistakes and a few stupid game things (blocking rather than strangling despite being right behind them) but apart from that going well.
