    High-Level Help Empty High-Level Help

Post by Cobaltblaze Thu Sep 20, 2012 5:37 pm

Hi everyone, I'm about SL 240 or so, and I have a question about weapons. I've platinumed Dark Souls (or the 360 equivalent of that) but I want to get to the point of where the DLC will be. (I'm only in the Undead Burg NG++++). So as you can see, I have every weapon, every shield, and anything else equipable, aside from the Demon titanite Polearm :/. I just want some recommendations on what to use, I can easily get a weapon to +15, +5, etc if need be. The only weapon I can't use is Smough's hammer, I have above 50 strength, but not 57 (I hope that's right). and most of my other skills are relatively high. Thanks in advance! ^.^

Fast roll and Thunderstone ring helps, Black bow of pharris can be very helpfull in royal woods too... beside that i cant think in anything more...

OBS: if you dont fast roll in artorias boss fight, you're going to have a bad time big grin

Oh, I guess I should have mentioned that I'm playing the console version, I just want to get back into things once the DLC is released.

Well if your looking for the best weapons at that range I'd suggest Artorias' holy greatsword +5 or stone greatsword +5 if your stats are spread out, and if you have the int or faith try buffing a +15 large club for insane damage with an easily timed r1 and roll attack. If you have 16 attunement or more try carrying a few casts of great magic weapon for PvE, 3 slots are 9 casts, great for clearing out entire areas in NG++ and beyond with just 2 or 3 hits a kill.

also you can enter the new content once you've placed the Lordvessel if I'm understanding your question.

oh and as far as shields I use Balder's +15 for situations I'll absolutely have to block like heavy enemies and bosses and use crest against most magic since you can usually dodge them so I find myself still needing the 100 physical more than the 80 magic. For fire try out a +9 fire sunlight shield, if you like it +10 it for a full 90 fire defense with 100 phsycal and only 4 weight. I seldom even think to defend against lightning but carrying an effigy shield wouldn't hurt.

Then for EVERYTHING ELSE stay light and carry the grass crest shield, I even switch to it when I'm warping lol!

Okay, thanks a ton! ^.^ I will probably have no trouble getting any of that stuff to higher levels.

At NG+4 I'm sure you have more than what you'll need to rule the dlc. Sounds like your stats are high enough you don't have to rely on elemental weapons, that's a big point in your favor -- lots of resistances in the dlc. If you have buffs available I'd equip them, even some of the mobs take a LOT of damage to go down.
