Get out of that prison. Kill some snake dudes, kill a few mermaid x tangling ladies. Climb the ladder, grab the key after slaying a few more lizards. Lolapalooza your way back up the next ladder, open the giant door, do some flips and **** out of the way of the evil crystal dudes. Kill the channeler, and hop down to the right.

On a semi serious note, I just use the rare ring of sacrifice and dry in vain to dps him for my own amusement while I die. If you had a lot of souls just wear a ring of sacrifice until you can get out of the prison and pack to his lair, your blood stain should be in the hallway otherwise be ready you bone out or just loose a ring.

There should be some trick to defeating him or forcing him to run away in the first encounter, then he'd drop the secret twinkling slab that allows you to descend crystal weapons. That's my dream every time I fight him anyway...
