    Struggling to be summoned

Post by CompactNinja on Mon Sep 17, 2012 2:00 am

    Hi,
I'm sure that Dark Souls being iffy with its multiplayer on the PC isn't news to anyone, however I'd still like to see if I can get any help. Trying something is better than nothing at all, after all.
Having played through the game once, I noted that summoning people seemed far more reliable than being summoned. To put things into perspective, approximately half of the people I summon will be successfully summoned, whilst in the hours I've sunk into just sitting around with a White Soapstone Sign on the ground, I've been summoned a total of three times. At this very moment, I sit in the Depths with a level 36 character, in the Sunbro covenant, to no avail.
As such I can only really assume that there is some kind of connectivity issue that affects my being summoned, more than it affects my ability to summon others. I was wondering if anyone knew of anything I might be able to do, in order to improve my ability to be summoned.
Any help at all would be appreciated.

I bet that Anor Londo, Smalls and Biggs fog gate is the best place to get summoned. Not sure about the level - I was SL 53 when fighting them, and saw 3-4 summon signs during my tries. And Iron Golem boss encounter is also a good place to go.

With my previous character, Anor Londo was where I got most of my summons, that being a "whopping" two, over the combined course of 1.5 - 2 hours (at a guess). My current character, a Sunbro, has never been summoned as of yet, and I've sat around with my sign out at each boss I've encountered, for at least half an hour each, more for some (such as the Gaping Dragon).
I understand that some places are higher traffic than others, in terms of summons, but this seems unnaturally quiet.

Even though I can solo all the bosses, using old good trial and error method - I always use all the summon signs in the area to help eventual SunBro happy But to be honest - I went for O&S solo to kill Smough first. Wanted the O's armor badly. And when summoned first time - Phanton used to kill Omstein first. Had to bully-die fast sad
