Join me in my quest to finish off the villains who have become slaves to the need to lock-on. Let us fight in Dukes's, and Dark Londo, and show them the might of dead angling and unlocked combat, the purest combat there is!

Re: Rebel against the lock-on!
I agree that not using lock on,at times, can be really effective. But not using it at all is limiting your play style and tactics available. I have fought people who used the MLGS and obviously never once used lock on the whole fight, and they were very effective.

Re: Rebel against the lock-on!
I use a ugs, I fight lock off most of the time. Well, I attack lock off most of the time, I keep the lock on and click it off as I attack, because then I can still lock bs without it being really obvious because I never lock on.

Re: Rebel against the lock-on!
I have said this before, but I'll say it again here; I have a Zwei build, a level 120, that hosts right at Solaire's bonfire, and I honestly don't think he has ever locked on to anyone or anything.

Re: Rebel against the lock-on!
I only lock off when I plan to backstab people in certain ways, or late lock with a spell like CSS to improve the tracking. Late lock also works for some R2 attacks, and allow you to nail someone with it when you otherwise would have whiffed if you had stayed locked on the entire time.
Playing with no lock ons at all, ever is only gimping yourself. There are too many advantages to having a lock on, it keeps you situated properly toward your opponent.

Re: Rebel against the lock-on!
I only lock on for projectile attacks, pyro excluded, and lock bs. Apart from that, I've been playing unlocked for months now, and I can't imagine going back at this point.

It seems we're all basically in agreement to some degree "Lock off sometimes" is the generalized idea.
Though I should practice with the Mura more, or maybe the Liato. that thing can Dead Angle too.... hmmm

Re: Rebel against the lock-on!
Thing is, all my best fights where when I locked off and confused the hell outta the people. Dark Londo's short lock on makes it all the better, because some people rely so locking on and it cripples them.

Cast cancel R2's. Stylish and effective. Same with the Estoc. God I spammed the SH*T outta that when I first realized how cool it looks. Haha. Especially wrath cancels.
