by sergeantstrawbery Sat Sep 15, 2012 12:08 amI heard somewhere that someone found a planned covenant for Velka in the beginning of the game from some unused dialogue. The black eye orb's purpose coulda been this, instead of just killing lautrec. the item desc says it watches over the gods of anor londo, punishing those who have sinned. The book of the guilty also says that the sinners are watched over by Velka. Oswald could have been the guy you give the items to. I think that Oswald my have had something to do with locking lautrec up, too. since this happens early in the game, and the covenant could have still benn planned. I think that this covenant could have been turned into the darkmoon blades later in development. This may be totaly off, and I know i got some things wrong, so please point them out to me if ou are reading this

Well that's just speculation, no dev actually came out and said that ( to my knowledge ) and I don't think there's official proof, but it does appear to be highly likely.

Might've been me who said that a velka covenant was planned. i found an item called the ring of condemnation on the wiki (in passing) who's description showed there was to be a covenant for velka. on that page it also said the ring could not be acquired by normal means. more cut content me thinks.

I just read the page about it on the Wiki, It sounds like a great alternative to the 'Karmic Justice' miracle. As for the Velka covenant that was supposed to be in the game, if its true that there really was one, it was most likely replaced by the Darkmoon Blade covenant.
