state of the pvp section.

hey guys..

i just want to bring up a subject that's been bothering me for a while. i've started to notice that the pvp sections and similar threads have been starting to change as of late..

it might just be me, but it feels like the general direction of what this section used to be- working on builds, learning new things about pvp and discussing tactics/viability is starting to give way to complaints, directing attacks at each other and trolling.

i mean.. just this week how many have these kind of threads popped up or have been locked?

can we just give it a rest, realize that everyone has different opinions and get back on topic here a bit?

so please, before you post that rage thread, bash the op for having a different opinion or troll people who may or may not be upset about future patch changes... just take a second, give it a rest and put that effort into something useful... like helping a new player with their build or listing some basic combo or whatever, who cares.

could you imagine how impressed that new player would be if they even had a fraction of the posts in their build help thread as these troll ones have?

People seem to be tenser as of late. There have been more snarky comments as well. Just remember, we are all in this together. That's why we have this forum.

Yeah I have noticed that. The meta is vastly more different in DkS to what it was in DeS. I never had complaints from friends and players in DeS and no one ever called cheap on anything.

I think we should go back to our roots in this section and have either mods or admins working on preempting any negative threads before they get out of hand..... I know it would take a lot of time on your part Riem but even a short period of this might help to show that this forum's community is not all about whining and and taking pot shots art one another.

i think that if people are just a little aware of it, and try to contribute rather than complain or what have you then reim or the other mods wont have to go gestapo on our a**es haha.

if we just set the examples and don't feed into these kinds of threads then it should calm down a bit.

Well the simplest solution is to just not respond in threads like that, report them and move on.

Reporting is a great way to handle it. It is anonymous (we know, but nobody else knows) and it helps focus our attention to possible problem areas.

Well if it doesnt bother you that is what I will do now. I havent ever reported a thread but there were some I might have been in the right to have reported.

Never anything wrong with reporting, even if it ends up not getting locked the thread gets looked over by the mods so they just see it and maybe post a warning, or if they don't deem it necessary do anything at all. Nothing wrong with letting them know you are worried.

OH and tolvo Im glad tp hear you are still keeping up with ENB. I heard him mention you in his latest lore vid talking about how the DLC/ something has had an effect on the community.

But yeah I wont hesitate to report if I think something is going south and fast.

It seems like as pvp went "downhill" so has the section.

Yeah I've been sort of acting as a bridge between him and this forum, provided we keep things civil he definitely likes what he sees and points people our way.

To each his own... Daft Punk has tones that trigger headaches with me. I'm not sure why, just certain frequencies I guess.

On topic- It's hard to contain passion and eventually it will explode which I think is what has happened. The dust will settle and peoples words will be forgotten eventually. This is all from a outsiders point of view so, take it however. An example is that I am extraordinarily passionate about Diablo and so I may say somethings on that forum that get a rise out of others and we'll butt heads like two bison in a field of females in heat. After it's over we go about our routine... Okay so the analogy is bad and can't go any further, but I think you get it by now.

I myself, have been a little stressed out over dark souls ever since PTDE came out. I have no idea why, it seems that I can't play DkS on PS3 anymore, I do have it for PC but I don't like to play games on my PC. It just seems that all the good people fled to the PC and abandoned the PS3 and now all that's left is the horrible people. So I took a break from PVP. I rarely get mad over anything much less raging. I can only hope DkS will be a lot better after the DLC comes for PS3.

i still play d2 btw lol. i decided to follow some of the old condor team and went for torchlight instead tho.

but d3 looks pretty neat.

Diablo=best of all time. 1 and 2.

Druid is my fav. Werebear for the win.

As for D3? Collector's edition sitting on my desk collecting dust because my PC is 5000 miles away. lol!

i felt bad for the online warriors in d1. guys would turn around with 5 arrows in their third degree burned back to yell at their team mates.

i played my hammerdin, bone necro and windydruid the most. the modding and bots have gotten out of control online tho so i just play single player now.
