Well, its hard to say, but because of the late release not everyone is going to buy it, also because most have put many hours in it already and there are new thrilling games coming out this fall. Many will move on.
But there will be enough players to compete or coop with I think. But yes, there will be a split.

The DLC area is completely seperate from the main game so that won't be a problem.
As far as weapons and armor goes, I think FROM will put out a patch allowing everyone to see and interact with those items.

Do you think from will put in something to prevent people without the dlc from getting dlc weapons and armor? Like they become undropable items in host worlds with out dlc contend or ppl without just wont see the drop.

that's a really good question , what would happen if someone drops a DLC item if I would only own the compatibility pack :roll:

If this whole delay really is a ploy to make us buy multiple copies of DKS then they've definitively put in a backup to prevent premium content being released for free. But who knows, honestly I'm almost expecting a wave of players using "other means" to get their hands on dlc content, at least on xbox
