    Mule Lottery - Good or Bad for the community? Empty Mule Lottery - Good or Bad for the community?

    Post by DelEats Thu Sep 06, 2012 8:18 pm

    Ive heard that people have been muling their fully equipped characters to another person in hopes of increasing the pvp population, and to encourage people to pvp. But form what I've seen people aren't really muling anymore because it takes nearly an hour to fully mule someone, and then the newly muled person never follows through with muling for someone else. A mule lottery might be a solution to that, where instead of muling just one person, you mule to multiple people who are selected at random.

    If someone wanted to participate they'd designate a time and place in a post on the player trade board. People who are interested after reading the post will go there at the designated time, put down their red or white summon signs, and hope to be summoned.

    Or mules could put a sign down and be summoned into a group of people who want to pick up items. Using a red soap stone could be helpful to avoid griefers. Etc.. There are a ton of different ways this can be done, but either way it would make it easier on the mules. Instead of it taking an hour the mules would be emptied in a matter of minutes, and you dont have characters running around with every single item in the game, which will encourage or indirectly force people that want to use fully upgraded items to play with more versatility.

    I've tried this twice on my own, and was even invaded a couple of times and rather than killing everyone the red began to pick stuff up. My character was completely empty in about 20 minutes and 3 people had a bunch of fully upgraded items and random stacks of materials, boss souls, hero souls etc..

    What do you think, could this be a good thing or a bad thing for the community?

    Yeah you've got the wrong community for this, we don't allow talk of glitching or trading glitched items.

    I'm confused, the way I read the original post it sounded like people were just Speed running through the game then giving away their boss souls, max upgraded weapons, slabs, etc.

    But the replies say otherwise, am I getting the wrong idea from the word "muling"?

    I didn't say anywhere that people should dupe or glitch, i am talking about dropping items for other people to randomly be summoned in and pick up. Do it once, do it once a week, either way the intent is to invigorate the pvp community even more. People who are going to dupe already have, and the ones who play fair struggle or fall behind. And it has been that way since people found out how to dupe their bottomless boxes. I don't encourage that, just muling chars. I personally use my PSN cloud, which I see as a little evil(which isnt glitching) to do more good. So until FROM removes the bottomless glitch from consoles with prepare to die edition, i think it can't be that wrong, can it?

    Viral he has 137 points, which mean he has been a member of the forums for ages even if this is his first post.
    Del muling requires glitching, and dropping muled items for other players is trade of glitched items. This discussion is breaking forum rules.

    You can't mule without duping.

    Duping muling all the aside...is the prepare to die dlc/patch going to remove the bottomless box duping? Praise the sun if so. No more endless divine blessings. Weapons will still be around, but...the hope this idea brought me is wonderful. And the letdown will be wreched.

    Just to clear this up for anyone who reads;

    The Dark Souls community uses the word "Mule" differently than others of it's kind. In Dark Souls the vast majority believe that it requires glitching to achieve a large amount of items at some stage in the process. Yes it's confusing and quite pointless but it's the way it's always been in Dark Souls. Dont ask me why.

    It is very clear by the OP, in the way he talks about passing a mule on, that he is talking about duping items. While it can sometimes be confusing in the player trade section, here its use is quite clear.
