    Pros:
    -Can stack high poise/heavy armor
-It's the perfect roll for tanks
-No need for ridiculous high Endurance
    -Can carry large weight weapons

    Cons:
    -Difficult pivot/roll/counter backstabbing
-Less I-frames than a fast roll
    -Less distance traveled during roll
    -Relatively slow movement speed

I have been fighting with medium roll builds that use FAP Ring+Wolf Ring for 106 poise. If you ever planning to medium roll, aim for this number. It can tank 1 Str weapon hit, 2 greatsword hits, 3 two-handed curved sword/katana/spear/halberd/straight sword and 5 of the latter 1 handed hits. Good weapons for these tanks are those who rely on stunlocking and breaking high poise. Opinions?

Honestly the slow walk bothers me more than the roll itself.

I think 106 poise is a lot to shoot for, but 90ish should be just as good. My tank has 92 and can do relatively the same as you described. Midroll just feels wrong when your opponent is dashing twice the distance. Hopefullly this is what is address in the PTD edition dlc patch. The speed of a roll should be the only thing that is different. Not distance or movement speed. I've always had issues with the silly I-frames in this game but what ya gonna do?... FROM has already bucked up and admitted to all the glitches and the poor shape of the game and was very lethargic about patching. Demon's Souls was so much better.

I want my Elite Cleric set FROM Software! lol! Patch that **** in!

The cause of the difficulty for backstabbing is the slow walk. I've only been able to do counter backstabbing on obvious backstab fishers.

I seriously believe more than the roll or I-frames that the slower walk will trivialize mid roll builds. I have 999 poison arrows and a short bow.... This is gonna be a while.

that med roll will make it easier for the better bs fishers (you can still backpeddle and counter bs obviously) and chainstabbing is probably 50% easier vs med rollers, as well as being more vulnerable to opponents attacking your wakeup.

if you can avoid getting backstabbed or play without them then that is not an issue tho.

My problem while using the mid roll is any weapon that has more range than the one I'm using (Mostly spears). The logical conclusion is to mid roll with a spear (sks for the sweeping r2) and turtle.

Otherwise, I'd usually rather sacrifice whatever I have to so I can fast roll and close the distance on the longer weapons.

(Seriously, more than once have I gotten someone down to 1 hit from death while mid rolling without taking any damage myself, just to die when they whip out a demons spear and turtle for the next 10 minuites.)

Midroll isn't my thing, and I've never felt the need for large weapons. Only problem is poise, which will always bug me.
