    Dual Wielding Empty Dual Wielding

Does anyone have a build that is specific to it? Also does anyone really like it or does anyone really hate it and think it's a poor way to fight?

    I'm not talking about catalyst/weapon or talisman/weapon. I'm talking weapon/weapon action.

Also I'm thinking of making a Dual Avelyn character? has anyone done that before?

People usually dual wield for more attack patterns or combinations, usually a spear on the off hand for poking, or a parrying dagger, or a shotel... i dont know, so if you are going to dual wield two equal weapons on your character it will just look cool, because it wont be any advantage on it...

generally avelyn is better to punish runners and healers on PvP, so its awesome to have one on the off hand

I do alot of Avelyn off hand for my character but I do like dual wielding two of the same weapons for the style and I have made it worked.

Mainly two Dragon Tooths I call "Fang Club Style" Shrug

But you can see why duel wielding two equal weapons is just for style... cant you?

actually. the differing angles can throw people off but it is not really worth it for anything other than style in general.

I've been planning on dual wielding a Winged spear in my left hand and a Halberd in my right. I like the idea of mixing up my opponents with slow poke vs. fast poke.

I repeat this a lot, but I love the Notched Whip in the offhand. It can parry and has a decent offhand attack and causes bleed. It's especially good when paired with a short weapon in the main hand (*hint* like the Painting Guardian Sword *hint*!) since it'll give you a bit more range. Also, short weapons like the PGS are exceedingly easy to parry in PvP, so the fact that the whip is unparryable is a huge advantage.

Mixing weapons that complement each other is a very good strategy for PvP... and just more fun in general!

can you backstab and riposte with a left hand weapon? If I held a parrying dagger in my left hand, could I parry then riposte with the same weapon? Or just bs with it and have a sword or spear in my right hand?

Nope. Can only perform critical hits (backstab and riposte) with your main hand weapon, and only with R1. (Also, if you try to kick by pushing up-R1 and you're in position to perform a critical hit, the game will ignore the kick and do the critical hit anyways! So you can't kick people in the back...)

So true! It does take quite a bit of practice though. Also depending on your left hand weapon's swing arc, its a decent way to throw people off when they constantly move to your left for a bs/pivot bs
