3 questions abt PC version. Wanna buy this today!!! Empty 3 questions abt PC version. Wanna buy this today!!!

Hi guys, I've been awaiting this game for PC a long time. I think Im just going to give in and go buy this today!

I have three questions that I hope I can get answered thismorning before heading in to get this. Any hep greatly appreciated!

    1.) Controller support.
I have a converter that allows me to use a PS2 controller on my PC (which is same layout as PS3 controller afaik). All the buttons and sticks work in properties (the analogue sticks use the 'axis' inputs) and fine in other games / emulators I use, but how good is Dark Souls' 3rd party controller support? Will I be able to map the PS3 button layout succesfully using this?

    2.) Steam support.
I want to buy the retail version of this from game that comes with the artbook etc for cheaper than the Steam digital download! I know that you can ativate your retail copy with steam, but I was just wondering has anyone else activated their UK retail version with Steam and do you get 'all' the Steam version functionality?

    3.)Old gfx card.
Im running an old Radeon 2900Pro, which is equivalant to just below an nvidia 8800. I can run Crysis ok, COD games on High settings at 1680x1050 etc as long as I keep AA off. I fairly confident that it should run the game ok, but I slightly concerned about driver issues. Is anyone else here running the game on older ATI hardware?

    Thanks.

    1) I use a Dual Shock 3 controller with the help of a some software called motioinjoy. Works great, however mapping the buttons for the first time was a bit of a pain, but if you're already using a controller then it should work.

    2) Can't help you here, bought the steam version.

    3) You should be fine. Dark Souls isn't a systemhog.

It's a whole lot easier if you use the Xbox 360 setup for dark souls on pc, regardless of controller.

    1) Motioninjoy, had to activate my ps3 controller as if it was an XBOX360 one, but all the buttons were automatically the same as the ps3 version.

    2) I bought the retail version, and yes, you can activate it on steam with the code(it wasn't working on the first 2 days of game launch, but it works now) and it becomes the same as if you had bought it through steam. you can download it from steam, update it on steam, and use the steam overlay. As far as functionalities go, there really isn't that much, there are no achievements on steam for it, they're all on gfwl.

    3) I'm not exactly a tech geek, but I'll point you in www.systemrequirementslab.com direction, select dark souls, run it, and it should tell you how your performance will be.

Hope this helps. Retail version is the way to go, don't forget to download the resolution fix. The game was a bit of a pain to get everything working, but once you get it right, plays exactly like it did on the ps3(minus the lag on blighttown, which in my case was gone).
