O so I have some general questions and hope you guys could help me out here.

I am trying to branch out into pvp with my SL 62, and have had some success using +5 lightning winged spear and grass crest shield combo. However, im not a big fan of shields since im focused on agility and dodging with this character. Therefore, I was considering dual wielding, so im wondering what off hand weapon you guys would recommend to compliment the spear in pvp, im considering the furyswrd (though i don't like the look) or the shotel.

My second question is about dexterity, I invested in it hoping to increase my weapon dmg, but im finding elemental weapons more to my liking, and since they don't scale with dex i feel like i have wasted stat points. But is this true, or is dex still worth it for defense bonuses?

There is really no sense in raising your dex if you decide to go with elemental weapon (only the amount so you can use the weapon of course) it's just waste of points. I suggest getting vitality or endurance instead.

    What juutas said,

and the shotel on the main hand and the winged spear on the off hand can do a nice combo

Notched Whip! My favorite off-hand weapon. Can parry, has a decent move, causes bleed, and can not be parried. If your opponent keeps parry spamming hoping to get lucky, whip him a few times and he'll stop (or, if he's clueless, whip him to death while he tries to parry your un-parriable weapon!).

As for Dex, it's an excellent way to spend your stat points if you're talking about PvP. For PvE, elemental weapons do the job well (until you get really far into NG+s), but for PvP you're much better off focusing on 1 attack type--ie: pure physical damage. Because of the way damage is calculated, for example, an attack rating of 600 pure physical will be stronger than a 700 split 350 physical and 350 elemental (hypothetical numbers). Also, if it's pure physical, you can buff it. So raise your Dex to 40 to get the optimal scaling bonus, and you'll be significantly more lethal than with an elemental weapon.

Is this for PvE or PvP?
