I ran into a cheater just now as well, in the Oolacile Township. Damage numbers did pop up above his head, but the health bar did not move.

I get paranoid whenever I get Deja Vu because of that movie silly

Sorry to hear that Montante. Peeve recorded this on Day 1 of the release. Figured it might have taken longer than that! Hacking protected, they said...

They also said "okay guys you want a pc port. thats cool but before we start let us say we dont have experience with this so dont expect perfection"
They have done well enough in my eyes.

    I laughed.

I guess all that time I spent practicing taking down hackers on XBL (or trying to, rather) has paid off. Come at me bro.

I think having your game hacked within 24 hours of the release is a far cry from perfection. They did very well with the other aspects given their experience though. However (bracing for flames), if SCAMCO weren't so interested in making money, they would have allowed more time to be spent on this aspect of it. Hell, they might have even released it at the same time as the console DLC!

Ugh. I differ from your perspective. yes they are making money from it thats the purpose of a company. however the entire idea of a PC version was a fan petition. they added new content too. frankly I regard all these things as a bonus and dont understand all of this anger.

There's a difference between making money, and rushing a half-baked product out of the door in order to beat the big titles coming in the fall. That's another discussion though.

Let's just be sad (or amused) that the hackers are at it already silly

As long as the hacking doesn't go rampant, I'm ok. Back on xbox I saw a lot more glitchers than hackers and From did a good job removing all the big glitches. But since this is on pc, maybe there will be more hackers.....gdi I hope not!

I bumped into a hacker as well when I was invading, I couldn't inflict any damage whatsoever. I landed clear hits, he trampled several times, but no damage. And to think Dark Souls PC has only been out for 2 days!

Luckily Games for Windows Live makes it pretty easy to report someone for cheating though. I just hope those moderators actually take action.

This really saddens me..... Pc gamers get the new content, the enjoyment of a hard game, and what does this one guy do?

Practically spits in the face of every console gamer out there!

Yes we all know that bleed weapons can kill garden variety hackers. that wont be a problem for them to fix on the PC though (bleed resist: 1500)
but fighting hackers using only bleed is still on hellofa handicap.

I like the kicking method. You'd have to be really stupid and really crappy at the game to run close to a cliff.....when you know its your only weakness!

Apparently there's a new breed of hackers using 'trainers' whatever they are (I know that kind of hack has been around for a while but I have no idea what it does) and bleed/cliffs do nothing against them.

There was this guy on gamefaqs who invaded and knocked one off a cliff and the hacker wouldn't die, he was in the void spamming BC trying to get rid of him.

idk doesn't sound like a no clipper.

Then we'd have people hiding inside trees and flying around. Luckily I haven't heard of either yet so they must have another way of just not dying when going out of bounds.

That was a serious worry of mine, because of things people don't even consider. I won't say how exactly they are surviving those falls, but lets just say with that same method and a few tweaks. They can invade worlds without setting off a warning, fog gates wouldn't stop them from going into other areas, hell I'm pretty sure challenging the boss wouldn't remove them from your world.

I really hope things like that don't happen. It would be a real shame for all you genuine PC users if people started doing stuff like that. I would support the type of mods that people have been making for Skyrim (extra quests and aesthetic armour tweaks etc) that are designed to enhance the persons experience, but not crazy stuff that's just going to make other peoples gaming experience a misery.

I've heard mixed reviews about the reporting system on GfWL. Is it good or bad?

Edit: Unless people start adding in Portal Guns and what not silly I personally wouldn't like to see anything that made the game easy.

Indeed. But those types of things are far more likely to be patched out after being discovered, however that will still take time.

I guess pc gamers just couldn't handle the pressure.

Some couldn't, running around in the burg even on day 3, sl 710, playing like idiots.
But for example this day one guy, he clearly played the game before already, so it's a console semi-noob who just couldn't resist hacking as hard as possible as early as possible.
It's not about the favourite platform of a player, but the easily accessable hacking methods on the PC and idiots which are idiots just for the sake of being an idiot, hacking.

~500 Invasions performed by me, roughly said, 150 hackers... it's sadly not the case that we speak of a definite minority here.
