Perhaps I'm a bit slowpoke, but I've realized something that makes Red Tearstone better than Power Within. Power Within increases your damage inflicted by 40% and RTR increases your AR or your predetermined damage by 50%.

This is to say:

If your Longsword has 317 AR and your 1H light attack deals 253 damage [80% of your AR], then:

Under the effects of Power Within: Damage (253) X 1.4 = 354

Under the effects of RTR: AR [317] X 1.5 = 475 X 0.8 [Light attack] = 380 *IN theory*

Under the effects of both: AR [317] X 1.5 = 475 X 0.8 = 380 X 1.4 = 532 *IN theory*

Now with that I'll say that in practice, RTR is even better. Because Power Within multiplies the damage AFTER defense had already weakened the attack and RTR multiplies the damage BEFORE defense lowers it.

I did the testing and this means that RTR is better when strengthening weak attacks than power within. In particular, I tested Fire Surge. Under the effects of Power Within, Fire Surge dealt 50 damage per hit. Under the effects of RTR alone, Fire Surge dealt 100 damage per hit.

Now, do I get a slowpoke.jpg?

Note: I say in theory because I DID test these numbers. the ones with "IN THEORY" actually dealt more damage which were 417 and 582 respectively [This is due to defense factoring in and reducing static damage and not %]. You get my point either way.Note: I say in theory because I DID test these numbers. the ones with "IN THEORY" actually dealt more damage which were 417 and 582 respectively [This is due to defense factoring in and reducing static damage and not %]. __So what do I say? RTR is better against armored opponents, Power Within is better against Light weight opponents. Although RTR is better in general...__Now, do I get a slowpoke.jpg?
