Re: random halo/circles
Faith guys can explain this better, but there is a miracle called [resonance?] That when you use it online, it makes you get "closer" to other people around network. So in theory, makes you see more ghosts, messages and soul signs. Plus, if you use a highlighted miracle near those rings, they will be more effective. I think this is it.

Re: random halo/circles
You got it close. It's when certain miricles go off alot in an area they will resonate and the halo will appear. Using any of those certain mircles in the vicinity (they will also be marked with a halo) gives them a boost (20%?)
As for the network bit, I don't think that applies. Just boosts your own miricles and lets you know others are around.

Re: random halo/circles
I'm actually working on a faith based build currently and I've been trying to understand this also. I think I understand basically how resonating works, but the only place I've really seen these rings are in the catacombs, where I'm assuming they're permanent, as I've seen them there on every play through. Are you saying that Seek Guidance causes resonances to become more frequent? It was my understanding that all this miracle does was allow you to view a higher frequency of orange messages, and therefore I don't ever use it. Attunement slots are too precious to be wasted on something dumb like that.

Re: random halo/circles
They aren't permenent, it's possibly someone spamming one of the force based spells. I really don't know if Seek Guidance would do anything, I suppose it's entirely possible.
I think convents play a role in this, with Princess Guard being based around it (ring you get makes it easier) and the Way of White based spells (none of the lighting spells will work) being the only ones you can get to resonate.

Re: random halo/circles
That makes sense. Ya know what? The places where I usually see them are right around where you can summon Paladin Leeroy and he generally uses force a lot. I bet you that's why

Re: random halo/circles
Now that I have no clue about. I can say I once got chained WoG (all three hits) and when I went back to the spot where I died the sign was on top of my blood stain. I don't really know if it was just odd chance that such a thing happened or a chained WoG can cause it.
I also feel confident enough to say, it's not level restricted either. I've noticed alot between 200 and up.
Thinking on it, I don't think Leeroy can use anything but great heal excerpt, when I see him WoG it's usually the R2 attack from a two handed Grant.

Re: random halo/circles
He absolutely uses force. Just the regular force spell. I probably wouldn't have known if not for the fact that I literally just fought Pinwheel with him an hour or so ago. He was using it on the Wheel Skeletons in the bottom of the canyon. When we came down off the little section where his summon sign sits I dropped onto the lower ledge where the Priest set is and he followed and bounced off me to the bottom. The Wheel Skeletons (or whatever they're called) swarmed him and he took a few hits then started using force, definitely with his talisman out. I watched the whole thing from above him.

Re: random halo/circles
but there is permanent rings like that in the area where theres a pyromance and 2 skeletons. I think they are on they way to Nito from taking the Blacksmith shortcut.
Anyone try the pendant there?
They are there every playthrough. never occured to me to try the pendant. but i will. considering the pendant is attached to rhea and rhea comes down this way it makes sense. (sorry to resorting back to pendant theories but its getting annoying that there is still no known use for it or the gold and silver coins)

Re: random halo/circles
What convent are you in, as WoW/PG should bring others of the same closer to you and you would find the signs way more often.
They shouldn't be permanent, quite possibly several people spamming. If you mean where the wheel skeletons are then I bet there are signs popping up everywhere, they suck if you get to many. I usually see them in areas with lots of mobs (WoG spamming) and farming areas, and I see ALOT in the garden where people are PvPing and farming the NPCs.

Re: random halo/circles
no theres a spot where there is 2 rings. clearly visible in an small area right after the black knight and 2 floating skulls. theres a pyromancer and 2 skeletons as soon as you turn the corner. tight hallway with a ladder leading up. Eventually leading towards Nito's covenant area. Always there. Same spot. No matter what.
and i think this has been discuss already and im sure someone has already tried out the pendant here. but i'll go check out the area again anyways just for fun.

Re: random halo/circles
Where the two skellie archers and the necromancer are in the catacombs right before the entrance to bonewheel skellievill is where I think the ones being discussed as permanent are. I have also seen them literally every time I am there too. There's two that appear in exactly the same area every time. Sometimes they disappear but always come back in the exact same locations. I spent a good twenty minutes with them the first time there because I was focused on the fight, got a Skull Lantern drop and saw them. Thought maybe they had something to do with the lantern.

Re: random halo/circles
Ok I know the area you are talking about and I have never seen rings, can you bring a miracle like Force or Heal and see if they get the halo on them also. Every one I have seen has disappeared after a short amount of time so my thought is maybe it's glitched for you and doing something like the cursed world, or maybe I'm just blind and never noticed. It has happened before heh.

Re: random halo/circles
I was thinking of doing this section soon in my NG+ Maybe I will head down tonight and see what's up now that I have most miracles. I got a pendant too this time around so maybe that'll be the key

Re: random halo/circles
ok. not with the game right now so im doing this by memory. but from the bottom, exiting from the blacksmith, you head left all the way. there should be an entrance. pyromancer and 2 skeleton archers in there. kill them. then look around. two rings can be found on the ground. they look like the one you see after beating the boss atop sens fortress but you cant interact with them.
i cannot be the only one who sees these!

Re: random halo/circles
That's the place. If you come down the long way...from the area with the T itanite Demon and Gravelord Covenant Coffin, go down the ladders all the way. Take a left I believe to get to the archers. One always appears right about at their feet while the other is at the other end of that hall. It's where there's still stonework right before the cave. If you get bombed by a flying head you've gone too far.

Re: random halo/circles
Ok at the spot, I came from the normal route, hollow with boss cleared and I see no rings of any kind. If it's yellow like the one at sens then it would be some form of warp ring I imagine.
I'll stick around for a bit and see if anything appears at least.

they are always there. never came down that way though. always through the blacksmith way. but i mean, i've made 7 characters with multiple NG+'s and they've always been there.

Re: random halo/circles
I came down Blacksmith way first time and other route every other. PPG-3- I'm with you all the way. Seems to be always there for me too. If I get the chance to play tonight I will make this my mission to get to and take a picture/experiment. Haven't been down yet on NG+ so hopefully the game doesn't make a liar out of me.
WhKnight...They always appear as white circles for me. I did Sen's first and had never seen a resonance ring yet. I thought that I found an interactive trigger of some kind (was almost expecting demons to grab me).
