    Interesting Info I found Concerning the Pendant and the Pygmy - what do you think?

    Post by Oh_the_Humanity on Wed Feb 08, 2012 7:05 pm

    I found this by accident, What do you all think?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    On the topic of the use of the pendant, I will reveal nothing concrete,
    since I am hard pressed to find ANY info about it's use(s) anywhere on
    the internet. However, after playing this game over 300 hrs. (no joke), I
    would like to offer a hint. Upon obtaining the Lord Vessel, you gain
    the ability to warp. One destination in particular is not linked to a
    Lord Soul Area. That is the Stone Dragon. Stone Dragon and The Furtive
    Pygmy are linked. That's it. That's all I'm sayin'. Take it as you will.
    Also, on another note, I was amazed to find that so many people have
    not clued in to WHO or WHAT The Furtive Pygmy is exactly. Any guesses?
    All right, I'll tell you. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!
    The Furtive Pygmy is also known as Seath The Scaleless. You will not
    get concrete proof of this UNTIL AFTER you have determined the
    pendant's true function (if this, in fact, is it's only function), but
    if you need further proof, consult the intro video and watch as they
    introduce the four Lords: Nito, The Witch of Izalith, Lord Gwyn &
    The Furtive Pygmy.
    We learn later that The Witch of Izalith is actually the Bed of
    Chaos, but there is only one clue as to who the Pygmy is without having
    used the pendant correctly. As the Furtive Pygmy is introduced after
    Lord Gwyn and his knights in the introduction sequence, a keen eye may
    notice that the Pygmy's shadow grows into the form of a dragon. Now you
    know why he's scaleless, huh?
    An even more discerning person might come to the conclusion that the
    first dragon seen in the intro is the Stone Dragon at the far end of
    Ash Lake past The Hollow. So if Seath betrayed the dragons, and now
    Seath is insane because he could not obtain what he wanted - The Scales
    of Immortality - it seems we have a conflict. ALL RIGHT, THAT'S IT.
    Perhaps someone should investigate a little more.....
    P.S.: This was discovered on my fourth NG+ run-through. I'm not sure if you can do this on first play-through or not.
    P.P.S.: Furtive means stealthy, or secretive. Pygmy is this sense
    must mean dwarf, or small in stature. Secretly small? I now take this to
    be a description of Seath while in his true form, not grown to a huge,
    scaleless dragon. Also note - they told you right off, he's scaleless,
    so his skin must be flesh, right? Hmmm..... more and more curious.
    ...but Seath is immortal. Until you kill him that is. I will move this to The Archives.
    No, no way is this true.. The only evidence would be the intro video and pygmy's shadow only grows longer as he stands up, in no way does it become dragonic.
    I'd also argue that the altar of sunlight is not linked to the four lords, it is most likely linked to Gwyn's firstborn who conveniently is not presented truly in the game.
    The
    Spoiler:
    player character is a descendant of the Furtive Pygmy
    . Hang with
    Spoiler:
    Darkstalker Kaathe
    for that bit of story telling "from the horse's mouth" so to speak. There's more but I don't wan to go super crazy with the spoilerage
    The pendant doesn't do anything (though I am anxious to be proven wrong). That is it's true power. It inspires crazy linkages between aspects of the setting and inspires people's imaginations big grin
    Herbo go spoilerage on us, since you know most people reading the archives should have finished the game silly
    you wouldn't be researching the lore if you hadnt done the game once in my opinion.
    There is one BIG mistake in your story.
    Pygmy is a FULL lord soul
    And when you kill Seath, you gain a PART of Gwyn Soul.
    Because Gwyn divided his soul into 4 parts: 1 to link the fire, 1 he gave to Four Kings, 1 he gave to Seath and 1 is with him and in his Sword.
    So no, Seath can't be.
    Got beat to it but Carphil has it right. If you gather all the lord souls and before you turn them in look at them, Four Kings and I'm pretty sure Seath also (may use the bigger one, can't recall) have smaller souls than Nito and Bed of Chaos, but they will also say they are fragments of Gywn.
    In the intro scene when Seath is introduced hes holding something rock-like and crushes it in his claw as the narrator is explaining he betrayed the dragons. Right from my first playthrough I took that to signify Seath pealing off and crushing his last scale. Look at his skin. It's color is a soft red mixed with white and his bluish hue, kinda like the color of skin underneath a scab. I'm not trying to be gross but I feel like it's pretty clear that Seath pealed off his own scales in order to try to replace them with crystals. I don't believe that he and the pygmy are related at all. Also, isn't the thing underneath the Bed of Chaos the pygmy? That was my impression.
    I will say this: probably not.
    For Plastic, the grub you see underneath that... tree, would make more sense of that of the Witch of Izalith, since it contains the soul of the bed of Chaos. As it is a woman, and its skin is of similar colour to that of the cloth worn by the daughters of chaos, it could be said that the Witch sacrificed herself to create a second flame. of course... instead she created the chaos flame, a bizarro version of the Flame that everything originates from.
    As it is to say, the Firstborn is that of Gwyn. However, gwyn and his uncle Lloyd were known to exist before they were lords of the flame, so could it be that the God of War was that of the same time as the Age of Ancients as well? It does not say who the Firstborn is, but it can be said that he did something stupid when it came to the Flame, I can say that much, even though it does no say it. How else could he have done something to lose his diety status, if he did not do something that had cursed the world forever. Perhaps he unlit the first Flame, in which case lead the Witch of Izalith to creating a substitute. Since Gwyn is that of a symbol of Order, and chaos is the similarity of that of a neutron and a proton, it can be said that Gwyn lit the first flame once more in order to save them from his Firstborn's mistake.
    As said, if that is true, than the possibility that the God of War is that of the Furtive Pygmy could be true, as both are small and mysterious, covert as it may. Still, not proof says such things, as no proof says such things for the forth lord, the Dark Lord.
    I assumed that the flame figure that appears in the center of the bed was the witch. Now that I think about I feel like someone called it the pygmy while explaining that fight to me, after like 20 deaths my first play. I just assumed they were right, but I think you're right. It would make a lot more sense that the witch represents both figures. Or maybe she and one of her unaccounted for daughters. I still feel like the God of War has more to do with man than what is said. Yes, it states in several places that he did something dumb and hence the punishment, but it also says in the description of the ring of the sun's first born that in doing so he lost his status as a deity. What's a god whose no longer a god? The first man maybe? I'm obviously just trying to logically speculate, but that was the impression I got. Why else would man be being punished with this curse also unless man as a race descended from this deity? I don't think that necessarily mean's that this god wasn't the pygmy. But I don't believe it was, nor do I believe it has anything to do with Seath
    You should come read the first post I have on the Archive. Such speculation of the God of War and the Pygmy can be seen, if you would like to see. Speculations as such has already been said... and I agree.
